Sampled at the Grapevine location, one of their seasonal brews. Served in a small fluted glass.

Pours thick, dark brown with a head that disappears quickly. Sweet nose, sweet taste, evidence of the candy sugar used in the brewing.

Heavy on the palate, mildly complex. Reminicient of some Belgian ales I've tried but falls just short of being excellent.

Tasted at the Big Buck Brewery in Grapevine, TX on 06/08/06.

Dark brown to black (almost stout like in color) in color with a low light brown ring for the head. Nicely melded Belgian style beer with a lot going on ... roasty malts, sweet dark malts, and some raisin/prune-like character. A very nice intro to dark Belgains. Medium-full bodied and fairly smooth.

A very nice Begian Dark Ale - definitely worth a try and more than one !
