Classic version of the style. Perfectly balanced with tart flavors, some salt and the coriander. Extremely refreshing, but with depth of flavor as well. A delight.

Pours a cloudy, deep gold/pale amber coloration with a medium, foamy head. Smells like a sea breeze, with strong notes of sea salt and spice and hints of biscuity malt and citrus. Taste is a lovely balance of mellow, slightly sweet biscuity, sourdough malt, citric acidity and saltiness, with a hint of coriander, grass, lime, green apple and white grape as well. Finishes with a medium sourness and some citric acidity lingering in the aftertaste. Medium body and carbonation. This is a fantastic, traditional Gose that doesn't hit you over the head with a crazy sourness and is very well-balanced. The sourness isn't even *that* mild though, this definitely packs a certain citric acidity punch and has quite the salty bite to it as well.

From the bottle, it pours a hazy lighter amber with a small head, quickly dissipating to a ring. Slight mustiness in the nose. The mouth is startled by the tart maltiness. Shocking, but good!

From a 500 ml bottle (no bottle date that I found) into a tulip.

A-The beer is clear and yellow-ish gold on my first pour, but after I swirl to stir the yeast a light haze emerges and some flakes of yeast are visible. The head foams up to about a finger in height before dropping immediately like a soda. No lace.

S-The aroma is musty and lightly tart. Hints of salt pull at my glands as I sniff the glass. A bit of fruity sweetness like apple cider plays well with the mildly funky wheat aroma.

T-The taste is similar to the smell. A light, lemon tartness never gets too sour and the salt only kicks in as the beer warms up a bit and I finish my glass. Spices are light but there is a little coriander lurking in here. The fruity flavor is diminished somewhat from the smell and the beer has more of a bready taste.

M-The beer is light in heft, but not outside the norm for a gose. Carbonation is slow to build on my palate, but when it does, there is a little flourish of bubbles...then its gone.

O-This is a nice, refreshing beer. It isn't SOUR in the sense that many American takes on the style are sour, but there is enough salt, spice, and funky wheat tartness that it doesn't bore me either.

500 ml bottle served cold into a pint glass. Purchased for $3.65 CDN. Review from notes.

Appearance - Mostly clear with some haze. Golden yellowy color that appears near snot green in some lights. Finger and change of medium lived white head.

Smell - Smells tart with some wheat, citrus and coriander. Really nice interplay between the aromas. Balanced as hell.

Taste - Tart, with light hints of sweetness and a subtle bubblegum thing going on. Of course this is after the standard tartness, light citrus and corainder with just the right amount of salt. A very good summer beer.

Mouthfeel - Smooth and light with a tart finish and slight drying effects.

Overall - Would like to say that this is probably a standard bearer of goses. It may not be the best on the market, but if it is better, you've created something pretty wonderful if it's about the same it's a very good gose and if it's worse, it could still be a pretty decent beer.

Pours a straw color with no head or lacing. Nose is a little funky and the taste light funk and salt. Haven't tasted one like this before. Interesting but wouldn't buy again.

$ 5.71 (Including tax)/16.9 oz bottle ($ 0.338/oz) at Oppermann’s Cork ‘N’ Ale, Saginaw, MI
Bottle at 42o into a hand washed and dried JK snifter (I know it isn’t the “proper” glass)
Aroma – light coriander and sea air
Head – small (Maximum < 2 cm, aggressive pour), white, fizzy/frothy, rapidly diminishing to neither ring nor layer
Lacing - none
Body – light yellow, hazy (Bottle conditioned)
Flavor – lightly sour with an almost cider-like taste; no hops, no malt, no alcohol, no diacetyl
Palate light to medium, more viscous than water, lively carbonation

This is different than the (few) other goses I have had – it is less sour and less aggressively carbonated. Actually the carbonation is most noticeable on the edges of my tongue rather than on the dorsal surface. It actually has a noticeable coriander taste that is not overpowering. I could learn to like this beer.
