12 oz bottle at fridge temp poured into a snifter.

Pours out nearly opaque black, shows a bit of brown on the edges. Frothy light tan colored head with decent retention and lacing.

Mocha, iced coffee like, a bit of a somewhat artificial vanilla.

Similar to the aroma, mocha/ iced coffee, hints of vanilla and roast. A bit simple and one dimensional.

This could have used a bit more body, light and a bit watery.

Not bad, on par with most other CB's beers I've had. Not really worth a second purchase however.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter.

A: Pours very dark appearing jet black in the glass with a slightly tanned head on top. After a minute or so the head dissipates leaving some lacing on the glass.

S: Very nice coffee aroma on this beer really brings out the bitter aspect of coffee. Vanilla is in there along with a complimenting milk stout flavor. Touch of dark fruits and chocolate.

T: Enjoying this beer here. Milk stout base keeps it light and a heavy dose of coffee gives it a great kick of flavor. Chocolate and vanilla round this out. Coffee really shines.

M: Medium to full body with a nice creamy aspect. A bit high on the carbonation but that gives it a crisp finish.

Overall I'm real impressed with this beer. Coffee must be fresh as it has a great bitter aspect that is perfectly blended with the lactose qualities of the milk stout.

On tap at the CB Craft Brewers taproom in a branded 16 oz shaker pint.

Pours a nearly opaque black, with a one inch tan head, and good sticky lacing staining the sides of the glass.

Smells like iced coffee- lots of vanilla and coffee.

The taste is similar. Very sweet, but natural tasting vanilla, with some great roasty coffee bitterness. A little bit of chocolate too.

Light-to-medium body, silky smooth creamy mouthfeel, very drinkable. Low carbonation.

A winner from CB Craft Brewers, loved this one. Could put down a ton of this.

A: The beer is jet black in color and poured with a short, dense tan colored head. The head gradually died down and left only a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of roasted malts are present in the nose. Some notes of lactose and coffee become noticeable once the beer warms up.
T: The taste has flavors of roasted malts, coffee beans, and licorice along with notes of lactose towards the finish. Hints of vanilla and sweetness gradually become perceptible after the beer has warmed up.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and a little smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation
O: This beer starts off tasting like a Russian Imperial Stout with all of its bold, roasted malt flavors but then mellows out and tastes more like a coffee milk stout once the beer warms up.

Extremely dark pour with a pleasant aroma. Coffee and vanilla on the tongue. Nice creamy finish...

Absolutely perfect smell of coffee, vanilla, and a hint of sugar. One of my favorite beers is Cigar City Cubano Espresso, and this is incredibly similar, just a bit heavier. I would compare this to the beer equivalent of a vanilla iced coffee. I'm lucky to have such a great local beer, and I'm sure I'll be picking up many more six packs before the season is over. You should do the same!

A: Dark brown to black with a 1 finger tan head. The head is nice and tight along the glass - but in the field the bubbles are varied in size (which detracts from the appearance slightly). The head fades slowly leaving nice thick tan lacing along the glass.

S: Coffee in yo face!I am not sure I am detecting anything else. So either there is nothing else - or the coffee is drowning it out on the nose.

T: Follows the nose up front - full of coffee flavor.

M: Slightly more prickly (carbonation feel) than I expected for a milk stout.

O: I really like this. The mouthfeel is definitely the weak point. It is just not smooth and creamy enough for a milk stout. It is really tasty and hits the coffee notes just right - but it is closer to Pepsi mouthfeel than milk stout mouthfeel.

A surprisingly great beer that I wasn't sure what I'd get. Living in Buffalo Premier Gourmet helps out big time in getting to try a bunch of stuff. I've had some CB, some are better then others, but this is a winner.

It smells great. Vanilla, Coffee, Dark Malt. It's all there. The taste is heavy with delicious dark chocolate, coffee, and vanilla left over. Slightly sweet, but nothing that would push it far over the edge.

It doesn't drink too heavy, so if you're in the mood for some coffee stout, you could easily drink 2-3 bottles of it.

For a single 12oz bottle at 1.49, this is a damn good find. Drink it if you can!
