Light, Pleasant taste.
A bit watered down.Crisp

I was very excited to find a blueberry beer on tap down on LI, but I was sorely disappointed...

Pours a medium orange-amber hue, rather pretty. Minimal head. Smell has a big punch of blueberries, nothing else. However, this smell reminded me of poptarts, didn't smell too 'real'. So, I'm almost dreading my first sip. Tastebuds are met with a full wheatiness of a rather quality beer, but where is the blueberry? At the end there's a bit of residual blueberriness which is too little too late. I read in an earlier review they use blueberry puree, well, I couldn't tell. It was like they sprayed blueberry scent into my cup and said hey it's blueberry. Ah well.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into an Alamo Drafthouse shaker pint.

Appearance: Pours a very pale, golden color with a large, fizzy head that dissipates almost immediately and leaves little lacing.

Smell: Smells faintly of blueberry syrup with a hint of graininess in the background.

Taste: Only mildly bitter up front. Develops a sweet blueberry flavor as it progresses and finishes grainy and slightly sweet. Honestly, I was expecting more from this beer.

Mouthfeel: Thin and watery...

Drinkability: A pretty disappointing beer. I really had high hopes for this one, thinking that a reputable craft brewery could redeem blueberry beers from the reputation that Wild Blue has given them. Unfortunately, this beer only beats Wild Blue because it's not patently undrinkable. It's way too light on flavor and even the blueberry flavor barely stands out. This won't be one that I'll seek out ever again.

Bottle left over from a party, and it's easy to see why.

L: Unexceptional light golden color and decent lacy head.
S: Strong blueberry scent, not unpleasant and no less than what could be expected from a flavored beer
T: Boring, not very fruity, couldn't finish it fast enough.
F: Fizzy, thin, unsophisticated, not enjoyable at all.
O: I recently participated in a tasting of Belgian ales, several of which were fruit-infused. They were much, much better than this. I've had other Blue Point products before and they have been fine. This was a complete misfire. Avoid.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

Color: Light

Aroma: A light blueberry smell mixed with a standard ale aroma.

Taste: The beer had a light, almost too light blueberry taste. The ale part was fine although the nothing sandout-special.

Finish: Lacking flavor.

[Suggested Glassware: Shaker Glass]

The pour was a clear light amber with an average (1-2 finger) white frothy head that reduced quickly, down to a thin cap that lasted throughout and had fair spotty lacing.

The aroma was a tad mild with a light grain malt, a mild doughy yeast and a bold scent of blueberries, but not much else.

The taste was mild like the aroma and had a lightly sweet maltiness in the beginning, and then a light infusion of blueberry crept in along with a slight tartness at the end. The flavor faded off the taste buds very quickly, with just a hint of blueberry left behind.

Mouthfeel was light in body and watery in texture with an almost soft carbonation.

Overall I found this to be a light and mellow tasting brew with just the right amount of blueberry flavor. Definitely would be OK on a hot summer’s day, when you want to have more than just a few...

Got as a gift! Served at 4deg C in a draught glass. 12oz bottle

A- Opens well and pours a good 1" high white head that is gone in seconds. Very light gold colour and filtered clear.

S- Not much here but metallic. Yuk

T- Horrible. Just a fizzy messy crappy brew that has an artificial taste that is horrible.

M- Dry. Extremely dry!

O- Not for me. Plain and simple. Had other blueberry brews and this one is pretty crappy. Would rather drink water

Food Pairing

Sorry but this brew is crap and not worth a pairing

You won't enjoy

This beer does some things adequately, but nothing really well. It's very fruity with this amazing blueberry aroma hitting you hard from the opening. My issue here is that there is little bitter to balance off of the sweet. It's as if they tried to bury the ale in blueberry and citrus. Mouthfeel was watery as well. As I type, I'm sitting here trying to finish it. Very one-note, not sweet enough to be a dessert beer, too sweet for regular beer drinking. Boring blueberry beer.

A clean amber beer. Has a nice foamy white head. The aroma is guessed it Blueberrys. There was a light hint of malt in the background. the taste is ...again Blueberrys. Even the finish leaves a a sweet blueberry film on the back of you throat that lingers after the beer is done.

A: half finger head on an amber and gold body.

S: blueberry times a lot. Some breads but blueberry dominates.

T: malts up front are quickly overtaken by pure blueberry.

M: light to medium body and moderate carbonation.

Overall: Exactly what you expected from the name but too fruity and too sweet.

Looks like a decent pale ale, orangish/amber with a slight haze to it. Nice 2 finger head on this pour. The aroma is massive amounts of blueberry, but it smells fake, maybe its just too strong or something. The taste is blueberry on steroids, its way overkill for me which makes it seem kind of fake. Some hops are there. Its almost like someone took a good pale ale and poured in some sort of blueberry extract. I can see some people out there liking this but its just too much fruitiness for me. I don't mind a fruit beer when it just adds an element to the beer but this seems to out play everything else that this beer could have going on. I'd like to see it tamed a bit. I'm trying to score based on the style, which I admit is not my favorite style beer, but I can say I've had slightly better blueberry beers.

Got this from a well-meaning trader as an extra. A light yellow lager with some blueberry in it. Yes, blueberry smell. A bit overcarbonated astringent mouthfeel. Not very drinkable. Why I do not normally go for fruit beers. Nothing of any interest to me.

Thought I was ordering the Toasted Lager (didn't read the fine print), so I was disappointed off the bat:
A: Simple darkish gold color, barely any head which disappeared quickly, but that may have just been because of the ineptitude of the bartenderess.
S/T: Blueberry, blueberry, and a slight malty character, maybe a secondary citrus.
M/D: Thin on the mouth, and more blueberry than I care to associate with beer, but a unique experience. It's too much of the same thing for too long with minimal complexity.

A- Clear, golden body with a thin white head.

S- Nice blend of blueberry and sweet/bready malts.

T- A thin taste of malt followed by the blueberry flavor that I kinda expected upfront. Not much else going on.

M- Kind tin/watery feel with a moderate carbonation.

D- Not a bad fruit beer, but not something I'd order again.

Our group thought this was not bad for a blueberry ale, and in fact some thought it was the best they'd had. Its main advantage is a drier taste than the sweet nose suggests. But it's also not bursting with flavor. Worth noting that our fruit-beer sympathizers, especially the women, predictably liked this more than the stout-heads.

Enjoyed this beer on tap at LURES in Maryland

A: Pours a clear yellow hue with a white head that slowly dissipates in to a wispy lace.

S: Fruity blueberry scent.

T: Sweet blueberry and malt flavor

M: Medium body and medium carbonation

O: Not a huge fan of blueberry beer – but this one was decent.

I spent the weekend down in NYC this past weekend and snagged this at a local market. The beer pours a reddish and golden amber color, with excellent clarity and very little head. The sweetness of the blueberry is clear right off the bat. There is definitely a blueberry taste but more disappointing and there is a mixture with the blueberry that simply just doesn't make this beer as good as it could be. (Boston beer works Blueberry, or Watchusett Blueberry Ales would be my pick over this). It it relatively easy to drink - very light but not as smooth as it could be. It's not a bad blueberry beer, but it's not a good blueberry beer either.

After a hard pour, the head filled the air with the smell of blueberries. The head quickly went away leaving the light amber colored fluid.

It smells more fruity then it tastes. You can taste the fruit but is very light. It doesn't overpower the beer. But now that I have about 2 ounces left in my glass, it is also tasting a bit on the flat side.I see almost no bubbles rising in my glass. even a qucik swirling of the beer delivers a flat looking beer.

The ber is light and refreshing without being overly sweet like the Wild Blue Blueberry beer by Anheuser-Busch.

I think it the carbonation was not such a problem then I would give it higher marks.

A: Poured a medium rusty orange with a thin creamy white head that settled soon after the pour.

S: The nose was fruity with sugary sweet blue berries and not much else.

T: The initial flavor was dominant blueberries with a light malt sweetness rounding things out. Not much else. Finishes semi-dry with a light tartness and light citrus notes.

M: creamy, light in body and softly carbonated.

D: Ok drinkability, mellow and not overpowering like many other fruit beers, but still nothing I would seek out or have seconds.

poured a fairly bright golden yellow with a large fizzy white head. This gradually faded and was replaced by a thin film of lace and copious amounts dripping down the side. Ample carbonation could be seen in the somewhat hazy interior of the glass. The aroma was very light, not overwhelming with the fruit at all, but rather very subtly blueberry with hints of yeast and a somewhat muted hop presence. A touch of bread like malts in the back. The taste was lighter then what I had thought. A typical yeasty pale with a significant touch of blueberry in the front. Ample carbonation again gave it a very nice and light feeling along with keeping it from going flat. There was a decent enough dry finish and the flavor did linger for a decent amount of time. I put the first one down in no time flat, but as far as how many I could have, the sweetness may limit this, as I find after too many I start to get a little queasy. Now overall this was not bad by any means, I thought it to be a rather nice light fruity brew. However I will stick to my IPA's in the future.

A-pours a transparent gold color with a white head with very good retention that leaves a nice lace.
S-low malt and hop aroma, mainly blueberry comes through
T-again low malt flavor, hop provide bitterness but do not provide any flavor, and blueberry is subtle. Finishes clean.
M-light bodied
O-very easy drinking beer. Not a ton of flavor, but what is to be expected of the style

This beer pours out as a clear yellowish golden color with a white fizzy head on it. There isn't much lacing here at all. The smell of this beer goes from blueberry to a bready yeast aroma. The taste has some light blueberry flavors in there. The taste also has a malt character that's not too bad. The mouthfeel is smooth and pretty light. OVerall it's a decent fruit beer but not the best.

Poured out of a 12 oz. bottle into a pilsner glass.

A – Light golden pour. Decent two finger pure white head. Tiny bit of retention with no lacing to speak of at all.

S – Well blueberry of course and not much else.

T – Well its does have a blueberry taste but not a particularly good one. Takes like a blueberry syrup served at IHOP. Its not awful but its certainly not a natural blueberry flavor. Some sweet malt at the finish.

M – Light bodied. Low to medium carbonation.

O – Slightly below average at best. This is not a great one.

Had this by accident as there was one in the sixer of Hoptical Illusion

A-Light blondish brown in colour with a massive head that nearly overflowed my imperial pipnt glass. Decent lacing.

S-Oranges and blueberries, some citric hoppiness as well.

T-The blueberry/orange flavour is definitely there. The hops taste similar to the Hoptical Illusion. The sweetness becomes a bit overwhelming for me as it is not balanced by the hops. however they are probably trying to gear this towards people who like that sort of thing.

M-Lightish body with a mild carbonation

D-This isn't a bad beer but it isnt up my alley. The blueberry taste is decent here, but it is not what I want out of a beer. Especially when i poured it and was expecting an IPA.
