Had on-tap at Green Dot Stables in Detroit, Michigan.

Appearance: Orange -- no head, not really any visible carbonation, zero lacing... nothing to it, really.

Smell: The best part. It just has a fresh, fruity, berry aroma to it. There's some malt, but there's no denying that this is a fruit beer.

Taste/feel: Eh... I'm surprised this beer has over an 80 rating. There's blueberry sorts of flavors, with caramel malts, and then it's gone. It could be really refreshing over something like a Shandy in the hot sun, but this wasn't anything special just sitting at the bar. Not bad, but I've had much better fruit beers. Pretty damn forgettable. On the plus side, this isn't overly sweet. At the same time, one is enough for me at once.

On tap in a pint glass.

A- Clear, clean sunshine yellow color. 1-fimger pure white head that fades and leaves streaky lacing. Lots of bubbles.

S- Mild blueberry aroma. Pleasantly not sweet. Some light wheat.

T- Blueberry, some grain and light malt. Not as sweet as I expected.

M-It's light and well carbonated. Sweet, not a hop in sight.

O- It was refreshing and flavorful. One was enough.

Enjoyed this beer on tap at LURES in Maryland

A: Pours a clear yellow hue with a white head that slowly dissipates in to a wispy lace.

S: Fruity blueberry scent.

T: Sweet blueberry and malt flavor

M: Medium body and medium carbonation

O: Not a huge fan of blueberry beer – but this one was decent.

This is a pretty decent blueberry beer. It's got an average color and flavor, but the aroma is very distinctive and pleasant. It definitely ranks up there in the fruit-flavored beer category, but take note that it's not necessarily my favorite style of beer.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled 11/8/2011. Pours slightly cloudy golden straw color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with nice retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of blueberry, blueberry skin, light bread, floral, and light herbal. Nice and pleasant aromas with good strength of authentic blueberry notes as expected. Taste of blueberry, blueberry skin, cracker, bready grain, floral, and herbal. Lingering notes of blueberry, blueberry skin, bread, cracker, floral, and herbal on the finish for a short bit. Good flavor balance with a nice amount of blueberry flavor; and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth and lightly syrupy mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with almost zero warming noticed after the finish as expected of 4.6%. Overall this is a nice blueberry fruit ale. Nice amount of blueberry flavor with good balance; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable fruit beer offering.

On tap at Kickbacks in Jax. Poured into a snifter. White head, low retention, clear lacing on a clear, straw body. Aroma is a musty blueberry, in a candy-like kinda way. Taste has some malt sweetness and again, sweet blueberry, the kind of tase you would get from a blueberry flavored cereal. Not terrible and I'm sure quite drinkable for most drinkers.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a standard pint glass.

Never heard of Blue Point Brewing Company. This was picked up as a single from a local grocery store. This seemed like a nice escape from dark winter beers and I love blueberry so I figured I'd give it a spin.

Appearance: Golden, has a nice white head that sticks around for a bit and then leaves a really light lacing.

Smell: This smells like blueberries. Luckily, it smells like actual blueberries and not like blueberry flavor. Not much else here, but no complaints.

Taste: Tastes like an old blueberry and oats cereal I love. A sweet beer, but luckily not too sweet. This is a surprisingly good fruit wheat. I'd probably love this beer in the middle of spring.

Mouthfeel: This is a really light beer, and that's not a bad thing. Kind of sticky too, maybe even like blueberries.

You know, I wasn't really expecting to love this beer, let alone like it. However, this is pretty good. I'd buy this again.

Poured from bottle into pint glass

Appearance – Pours a medium golden-amber color with a one finger white head that has a decent level of retention. The head holds strong for quite some time, but eventually fades to give a moderate level of lacing.

Smell – The aroma is huge of a blueberry smell. Mixed with this is a very light bready aroma. The blueberry smell is a little artificial in nature as it is a little to potent and sweet, but none the less, it is quite pleasant and nice.

Taste – A light bready and sweet blueberry flavor greet the tongue. These flavors are present throughout, but change slightly in intensity throughout the taste profile. The bready taste start out heaviest upfront (although not too heavy) but fade more and more as the taste advances. The blueberry on the other had starts out lighter and gets stronger as the taste advances. In the end a sweet and very blueberry flavor is left to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the rather thin side in terms of creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average. The thinner body and higher carbonation create a rather crisp brew which is great for the sweet blueberry favors of the beer.

Overall – A fairly tasty blueberry ale, although it may be a little cloying. Overall one of the better blueberry beers I have tasted. While not a beer I would drink on session it is rather refreshing and worth a try.

The smell of blueberries hit me as soon as I popped the cap. The beer had a decent blueberry taste, but overall it was a bit weak. The flavor disappears mid-sip and leaves a rather bland taste in the mouth. Overall its an average beer. Nice on the front end, but leaves a little lacking on the back end.

I was very excited to try this beer. I LOVE fruity beers! It pours a yellowish/orangeish/gold. A pinky finger worth of white head that looks like freshly fallen powdery snow sits at the top and only lasts for a few minutes. What's left is a snowy white ring around the top. It smells delicious. The most prominent smell is of fruity pebbles. The blueberry smells natural, not artificial. My first sip revealed more carbonation than I was expecting, but not overpowering. I'm getting a strong club soda/tonic taste, in fact I can taste that more than the blueberry. It smells more strongly of blueberry than it actually tastes. The mouthfeel is dry and crisp. This would be a good choice for someone who only wants a hint of fruit, but I wish there were more. Definitely a good session beer and relatively low in alcohol. I wouldn't buy this again but would certainly have one if offered to me.

Appearance: Clean, crystal clear golden straw-colored ale, about a ¼ inch of head. Looks to be well carbonated.

Smell: Definitely get the blueberries right away with some strong flowery sweetness. Also some lemon/citrus, and the malts bring everything together.

Taste: Sweet, but not quite as sweet as I was expecting. More flowery and tart than sweet. The blueberries are there but they don’t overpower the malts. There’s also a good amount of hops on the finish. Hardly any alcohol noticeable.

Mouthfeel: Nicely carbonated and goes down clean and easy. Good solid body for a fruit beer.

Overall: After losing all faith in blueberry beers after trying Anheuser-Busch’s Wild Blue, it took me a few years to come back to another. This was a nice surprise - an enjoyable simple beer that goes down easy and could really be a session for me. This is really how fruit beers should be done, the malt and hops always come first, and the fruit gives it just a slight tweak in flavor.

Appearance: clear straw. Lots of bubbles. Fairly thick lacing that dissipates quickly.
Smell: sharp, crisp blueberry.
Taste: more of the same. No doubt what this is about. Truth in advertising. It is a pure blueberry ale. Nothing complex bout it, and it works.
Overall: a one trick pony to be sure but it pulls off blueberry ale as well as can be done I reckon. Very refreshing on a hot summer day.

12 ounce bottle. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear gold color with about a half inch off-white head that sticks around for a bit. There's also a good amount of lacing left on the glass. It smells like blueberries and blueberry syrup. Kinda fruity, kinda artificial but still nice. Taste is similar to the aroma, it tastes like fresh blueberries, blueberry syrup and some grainy malt. Reminds me of eating blueberry muffins (and I mean that in a good way). Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's refreshing and easy enough to drink. The longer I drank this brew, the more I liked it. A friend of mine got a single bottle of this for me when he was on a trip out of town. If I came across this in the future, I'd buy it. I think it's a good brew.

Appearance: Pours out a clear, bright golden body with a slim, brief, white head.

Smell: Sweet-scented, aromatic blueberry notes, and enough underlying malty hints to remind you you're drinking a beer.

Taste: Sweet, sugar-toned malts with very mild notes of faintly toasted breadiness to it. Blueberry flavor through and beyond the finish, naturally, which, when joined with the initial sugariness, is like biting into the sugar-coated top of a mini blueberry muffin.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: It's good enough. For a blueberry fruit ale, that is.

A-golden with a thick white head

S-smells like syrupy blue berries. It's an adjunct scent, medium strength

T-comes in with a clean taste of adjunct grains and blue berries. Not a terrible taste. It's not very flavorful, but it's also quite crisp and smooth.

M-low carbonation with a watery finish

O-it's actually not a terrible beer. It's pretty straight forward with out gross off flavors or qualities. Simple. The girls will like it.

I really enjoyed this. It had a real blueberry scent - not just generically fruity or artificial. Taste was more subtle and quite sweet, but still good. Color was pale yellow... straw-ish, maybe? Hardly hoppy at all; would be good for someone who is new to beer drinking. Good summer beer.

Pours a cristal clear yellow

Smells wonderful. Strong smell of blueberry pie. Absolutely wonderful.

Taste was disappointing in relation to the nose. It had nearly no blueberry flavor.

Mouth feel was crisp and clean

Overall I was hoping for more blueberry pie flavor.

A: half finger head on an amber and gold body.

S: blueberry times a lot. Some breads but blueberry dominates.

T: malts up front are quickly overtaken by pure blueberry.

M: light to medium body and moderate carbonation.

Overall: Exactly what you expected from the name but too fruity and too sweet.

Pours a mild golden color with a one-finger head into my glass. Good presentation. Good color, etc.

Lots of blueberry essence mixed with clove and wheat. Not a surprise here. What I expected.

Ditto on flavor. Blueberry essence is subdued in favor of toasty, sweet malt. Very crisp. I like that the focus is back on the base beer and not just the flavoring.

Lingering blueberry essence and sweet, toasty malt. Very tasty.

I like this! hard to figure out the "best of" but it's not cloying or too artificial.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass.

It pours out a golden color with a white head. Aroma? Blueberries. Taste? Blueberries. Mouthfeel? Not blueberries. It's lighter and briskly carbonated. Drink this if you want your beer to taste like blueberries. Avoid it if you don't want your beer to taste like blueberries. It is what it claims to be on the label, nothing more, nothing less.

Reviewed from notes from 3/13/12. 12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

Appearance-light yellow/golden with white head

Smell-Juicy, fresh blueberries. Also, pick up on sugar

Taste-Right on par with the nose, I get a lot of fresh-blueberry taste through and through in this beer. The profile reminds me of fresh/organic blueberries. This is definitely sessionable and I will pick up throughout the summer and possibly spring too.

Mouthfeel-Well carbonated, light.

Overall-I have been searching for a blueberry beer and have found my match. Got really lucky with this one-since BluePoint is well represented here in upstate NY. Can't wait for warmer days so I can buy again.

This beer does some things adequately, but nothing really well. It's very fruity with this amazing blueberry aroma hitting you hard from the opening. My issue here is that there is little bitter to balance off of the sweet. It's as if they tried to bury the ale in blueberry and citrus. Mouthfeel was watery as well. As I type, I'm sitting here trying to finish it. Very one-note, not sweet enough to be a dessert beer, too sweet for regular beer drinking. Boring blueberry beer.

Got this one from a great east coast BA'er.

Poured a very beautiful medium amber gold that was nearly non-translucent but appeared to be totally filtered. Produced a stark white head that reduced to a mere inconsistent lace ring around the glass. Smalls are overwhelmingly blueberry! The tastes are not very carbonated as some have posted. Perhaps it's a less than fresh bottle at this point. Has the backend taste and mouthfeel of a Blue Moon. For only a 4.6% abv brew, it's more than a mouthfool. Seems heavier. Decent brew. Come summer time, I'll take a Leine's Berryweiss over this one anytime. Glad I tried it.
