Blue Point Brewing Company
New York, United States

Style: American Amber / Red Lager

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.50%

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our flagship and most popular brew, Toasted Lager is the best American Amber Lager you’ll ever taste.

To back up that claim, we use six different grains to perfect a balanced flavor of malt and hops, and a special proprietary lager yeast to give Toasted Lager an exceptional, long-lasting smooth finish that’s meant to be enjoyed year-round. Pairs perfectly with fresh seafood...or any food for that matter.

Clean amber color with a thin head with short retention.
Light aroma of honey and papaya.
Flavor of grains, oxidized apples, slightly toasted malts, spices and floral hops.
Light to watery body with moderate carbonation.
Very interesting that it behaves a bit like Ale rather than a Lager. But, it would be nicer if it had more body.

Look: Pours a light amber with a single finger off-white head that leaves a decent amount of lacing.
Smell: some orange, some mallet sweetness
Taste: care sky sweetness, and mild bitterness on the front end. Toasty malt and nutty on the back end.
Mouthfeel: crisp and medium bodied. Drinkable
Overall: I really liked this one. I'm not typically a big fan of this style of lager, but this one has alot of character.

Toasted Lager pours a large, just off-white head with okay retention and above average lacing. Beer is golden/yellow in color with a bit of orange. Smells of floral hops, and a bit of toasty nuttiness, with a touch of dough.

Tastes of floral hops, bready malts, and toasted malts, with a bit of hop bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is average with high carbonation, just slightly chewy with a crisp finish.
