Pours a light brown tinted amber, decent cream colored head, little lacing. Scent is dominated by sweet malt, with a muddled earthy and light citrus hop presence. Taste again controlled by a lightly sweet and nutty malt, some earthyness to the hops with limited citrus. Medium bodied, fairly creamy, decent carbonation. Like many of Blue Points beers, this tends to lean more towards an English influence than American.

A - Dark amber with an inch of head. Nice.
S - Wheat malts and slight grassy lager smell
T - Slight bitter with hops and malts present.
M - Bitter yet not unpleasant. Good pale ale.
D - Meh I really can't buy this other than the variety so if PA six packs laws don't change I may see another variety case in the future. Pretty good overall.

A nice clear copper colored brew, this one has a thin off-white head. Good appearance. The aroma is clean,a lightly malty, and with a hint of undetermined fruit. Decent hop presence. Fresh and clean taste. Firmly bitter. This is a tasty, but not exceptional outdoor brew (enjoyed on my deck on Memorial Day).

Swung by the brewery after work to check things out and it was hopping. Beer had a nice amber color to it and smelled of sweaty sticky hops with a background of citric notes. Taste was like the nose but even more sweaty tasting (sweaty is a weird way to describe it, but if you tried it, you would understand what I am talking about. The malty sweetness is there but it is dominated by the hoppy bitterness. Overall pretty good, more ipa-ish than pale ale and a nice one from one of my fav local brewers

Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a lighter copper kind of orange color with a nice big and thick just off white two finger head. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a nice level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma is lighter overall but consists of a nice blend of caramel, cracker malt and a decent hop profile. The hop is rather complex in nature consisting of floral, citrus, grassy and some pine notes.

Taste – The taste begins with a drier cracker and bready malt taste with a hint of caramel sweetness. The caramel leaves quickly leaving the taste quite dry. The hop flavors then start coming to the tongue. At first a light citrus greets the tongue, remaining rather light through the taste. Other hop flavors of an earthy and grassy nature come to the tongue soon after though giving the brew a rather hoppy taste overall. Toward the end a little bit of a floral hop taste comes to the tongue, which, in the end, with the loss of the sweet and the presence of all the hop a rather crisp and diversely hopped taste is left to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the lower side with a carbonation level that is on the higher side. A bit more body may have been nicer for supporting the hop and would have balanced the brews flavors slightly more appropriately.

Overall – A rather decent brew, although not quite what I was expecting for a “copper ale” (as described by brewer as I was expecting something maltier and sweeter). As an APA though it is very appropriate in flavor and a nice one to try.

Twelve ouncer poured into a pint glass. Grabbed in a mixed six offering.

Pours medium amber, mostly light, with touches of foam. Malty rich caramel smell, some toffee. Hearty malt taste with a good firm hop. Nice bite at close, really pops the flavor.

Overall another good one from BP.

I enjoyed this at Nail Creek in Utica on 7/2/11.

This beer is amber in color with a very slight haze. A white head recedes to one finger and stays there, proceeding to drop lacing in pretty sticky patches.
The aroma offers pine, floral, and light citrus hops notes with a balance good caramel and toffee malts notes. Grains linger softly in the background.
The taste follows the aroma, but with a bit of tartness like green apple skin. Biterness is ample, biting without being bracing.
Carbonation is moderate. Crispness is up front and, while this gets fairly smooth, crisp is the word here.
I'm glad I got to try this while I was out east. A very nice beer.

Had this on tap at the Torches On The Hudson Restaurant in Newburgh, NY. It's a pretty true amber color with a healthy fluffy white head and very good lacing to go with it. The aroma is solid but not too heavy, a bit of grassy citrus but more caramel malt I think. Pretty good. The flavor is similar with bready brown sugar malt dominating a hint of citrus but I pick up a nice smidgen of cherry fruitiness as well. It's sweet but the grassy quality cuts that with the addition of good carbonation in a mid to thin bodied brew. Certainly quite drinkable and not bad for an pale ale, but I would prefer a touch more body and less grassy bite. This is likable but not very memorable.

Nice copper color with a small white head that left little to no lacing.
Smell is slightly malty and some grass.
Taste is much better than I expected for something called a Spring Ale. I was expecting something light. This has a nice balance of malt and hops. Makes for a nice drinkable pale ale.

This one makes for a good session beer, very drinkable.

Didn't know this beer existed. Pours an exceptionally clear copper color, with an average white head. Mild hops in the aroma and a bready malt. Glad that there wasn't a buttery aroma like their other brews. The taste is of a slightly bitter hop, not floral or citrus, just a tad bitter. A healthy malt body to balance out any hop bitterness, perhaps a touch of caramel malt. A fairly light brew, good carbonation, leans on the bitter side. A decent APA, could use a bit more of a floral hop presence. The bitterness is there but not that nice grassy flavor.

Beer notes from 4/23/11, on tap. Pours clear gold in color with a fluffy snow white head that faded slowly and left great spotty lacing.

Smells fruity like pear and apple, with sweet malt, caramel, brown sugar, floral hops, flowers, citrus hops, light grains, grapefruit, light spices and wheat or yeast; a nice mix for a nice aroma.

Tastes like it smells, with sweet malt, caramel, brown sugar, floral hops, flowers, citrus hops, light grains, lemon, grapefruit, coriander, light spices like pepper, yeast and the slight funk that goes with it, grass and a slightly dry finish. Malty with just enough hop bite to make for a nice balanced beer.

Mouthfeel is light, crisp, silky smooth and refreshing, with a light body, high bubbly carbonation and an overall light fruity feel. The hops and malt are well balanced, and this is a great session beer and very enjoyable.

Reviewed from notes. Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass.

A: Deep copper color. Lacy head.

S: Soft hop aroma (citrus).

T: Balanced taste, easy to drink. Finish stays in your mouth for a few beats with mild bitterness.

M: Medium body for the style, a little thin overall. Good amount of carbonation.

O: Certainly nothing exciting, but decent. An easy beer to grab out of the fridge on a warm afternoon when it's available.

Draught @ Headkeeper: This one pours a crystal clear, golden color. There was just a wisp of a white head on it. There was no lacing. The nose is lighter yet nice. Grassy and earthy hops, some malts. The taste is good. It is slightly bitter and dry. Earthy hops, some malts in background. Pretty good!
