Pours a clear pale yellow with fair lacing.
Smell is light grassy hops with a hint of citrus.
Taste follows the nose. Grassy with some citrus.
A refreshing summertime ale.

Looks like most "summer ales". Light gold. Smells like a Land Shark with a hit of grassy hops. The head doesn't last for more than a minute and lacing quickly follows suit. But the worst part of this beer (to me) is that lousy hop bitter aftertaste. Summer ale is supposed to be refreshing. I much prefer the real beers of fall and winter where we get some nice maltiness and generally lower IBUs. Wonderful Stouts,Porters, Triple Bocks, etc. But a summer ale should be refreshing, thirst quenching, and well carbonated. And not too serious. Land Shark, Blue Moon, stuff like that.

A completely quaffable summer ale. It's light, lemony and refreshing on a hot summers day. It's not complex. It's not thought provoking. It's a summer ale. Chill. Drink. Repeat

Blue Point Brewing Co. "Summer Ale"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle, "BOTTLED ON: 18MAR17" and sampled on 26APR17
$2.29 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Look: Golden body. Fingerprint-through-the-glass clarity. Short-lived head of bright white. Next to no lacing left behind.
Smell: Fruity, almost like fresh berries. Light grainy malt.
Taste: Crackery malt base with a little tartness and moderate bitterness to balance it. Less fruity than the nose suggests, with a spritz of lemon. Finishes dry and delicately acidic with some residual low level floral and earthy hops.
Feel: Medium-light in body and crisp.
Overall: A clean, well-balanced and refreshing ale that's perfect for summer. Some may argue that it's too basic but if it was any fuller or more complex it wouldn't be nearly as refreshing and "crushable". For what it is, it's really well done.

Pours to a straw yellow with average head, smells of summer, goes down nice, should have drank this in Summer, might enjoy better than I am in December. Still, it's a nice beer.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a thin white head that dissipates to a thin ring, leaving no lacing. Aroma of pale and biscuit malt, grassy hops. Flavor starts with attenuated biscuit malt and grassy hops, then drops off quickly leaving a slightly astringent bitterness, but a light hint of lemon citrus. Light bodied. The initial flavor is quite similar to an adjunct lager, but without any modifying light sweetness, which also be appropriate for a blond ale. The initial flavor is light, but pleasant, but the finish is not that great. Looks and tastes mediocre. Drinkable, but not repeatable.

A medium bodied beer with not a lot going on, slight sweetness if you're tasting for it. Good beer to break people into the taste of beer.

Taste Rating in Words: It's small talk at a party, it could lead to more if you garnish it with something, otherwise it's just a filler.

L: Thin and yellow, nothing impressive or offensive.

S: Smells minimal, pretty-much just standard light beer smelling.

T; Light; and not a lot is going on. Some Belgian yeast, and watery malt. Not much of a beer, but probably enjoyable for light-beer fans.

F: Thin and biting-bubbly. Clings to the tongue, but needs more body. I think that it's okay and I would drink it, but I would drink a bud light with the same indifference.

O: This is like a fizzy version of a bud light; if that is what you are looking for then it is perfect, but it is not to my taste.

From Saveur-biere. In Teku glass. At dinner, with Chefburger Sabrosa. Similar to an industrial lager, not sure if i'd chose this over that Very watery, with a mild grassy bitterness and a slight citrus tartness at the end. Refreshing but boring and too watery

It's a decent lite on the pallet beer.
