Thanks to the creator of the can quest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is malty, sweet. Taste is very mild, some light malts, a touch of floral hops. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

No more than one finger white froth of head over light golden body, very bubbly. Nose is slightly buttery, and it's hard to pull much else out. Flavor deals very little to the palate. Grainy and a minor smack of fresh grass if I focus hard enough. Good carbonation, but what's that without some flavor?

Overall, the neutral flavor and mouthfeel make this for an easy beverage to down immediately in 90+ degree heat. Other than that, I wouldn't reach for this again.

Light gold with a sizeable head and good retention. Light malt aroma with mild lemony hops. Taste follows nose with a decent dry bitterness in the finish. Good overall malt backbone. Light feel with a refreshing carbonation and quenching character. A nice beer overall.

My CANQuest (TM) inventory is finally dwindling back to the point that I will be doing some active tading in the very near future. For now, this was one that I picked up during my most recent visit to Pinocchio's and which I am anxious to try on this humid summer evening.

From the CAN: "A refreshing Golden Ale to be quaffed in the Summer sun."; "'Long Island's Brewery'"; "Craft Brewed Extremely Fresh".

The Crack rvealed yet another brimful craft CAN and the Glug initiaally filled my glass with foam until I backed off. The two-plus fingers of rocky, bone-white head were extremely fizzy, causing it to diminish in a hurry. Color was a deep golden-yellow with NE-quality clarity and lots of CO2 bubbles in evidence. A fizzy yellow beer and Mr. Koch may eat his heart out! Nose had a soft maltiness along with a lager-like honey scent. Interesting. Mouthfeel was slightly thin, but the taste was lightly malty with a honey undertone on the tongue. Finish was semi-dry and refreshing, but somehow, I felt as though it were lacking something. It was kind of an underwhelming beer. I would look for something else for the summer.

From a 12 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on June 30, 2012. The pour was golden yellow with a thin, fizzy white head, slow moving carbonation, and a slight chill haze. The aroma was your basic toasted pale malts with a clean and crisp hop note in the background. The body was summer light. While the taste had a pleasant enough pale malt character I was expecting more of a citrus zest in there as well. Low bitterness. It was drinkable on the 87 degree day on which I tried it out.

Part of a mixed 12 pack. Brewed with barley malt and wheat malts. 1.044 OG, 16 IBU, 4.39% ABV.

Pours out to a sparkingly clear medium golden, forming a tall creamy white head with excellent retention and lacing. Medium-brisk carbonation, ~3.0 carbs. The nose is interesting...although not mentioned as an ingredient on their website, I distinctly smell coriander, and it's not subtle. Mouthfeel is watery, crisp, clean with a light body. The taste is very mild...a delicate pale malt base with some table cracker wheat and the coriander. Their yeast strain is peculiar...I've noticed this odd-fruitiness in 3 of their beers...I'm guessing it's Nottingham. Definitely not Cali ale yeast. Medium light bitterness. Powdery finish.

A decent summer thirst quencher, but I'm not inclined to buy it again.

A-Pours a clear yellow color. No haze. Nice white frothy head. Head dies off a bit but and laces very well.

S-Sweet and grainy with nearly zero hop presence. Lemony and a bit of honey. Clean and fresh. Really lacking much intensity or complexity.

T-Very bland but nowhere near terrible. Honey and grain. Flowery and lemony. A nutty finish which is quite surprising. Very mild. Boring in most areas.

M-Creamier than I was expecting. Carbonation is not abrasive. I actually would prefer more bubbles. More body than I expected as well.

O/D-Pretty bland. Not happy with a six-pack purchase. Another snoozer in a long line of Summer bores. Easy to gulp down but doesn't impress at all.

Pours a beautiful pale crystal clear yellow with full white long lasting head. Nice scent of citrus and sweetgrass. Taste is clean and crisp , just what I want in a summer brew. Really refreshing. No hoppy aftertaste or bitterness; a great more than one choice!

Pours a straw color with a wispy white head that quickly settles into a light ring.

The aroma is of a lightly bready malt, some pilsner malt dryness. Slightly fruity but not much. Pretty neutral aroma.

The taste is of light grains and some grassy notes from the hops. A smidge of general fruitiness but for the most part the flavor is of a pale & pilsner malt.

The feel is light and crisp with fizzy carbonation. Good balance on the palate. Insanely drinkable summer brew.

Great alternative to a macro lager. Highly drinkable without that macro veggie taste. Good for a rather bland style.

A: Pours a clear medium yellow in color with some light amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a finger tall white head that reduces to a thin film covering the entire surface of the beer with a couple of thin patches and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate lacing is observed.

S: Light to moderate aromas of pale malts and grassy hops.

T: Flavors of pale malts along with some wheat upfront with some light hints of lemon citrus and some extremely light grassy hop bitterness.

M: Light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.

O: Refreshing, very easy to drink, and quite sessionable. Not the most interesting flavored beer but it is very light and refreshing for a hot summer day.

Picked up a single of this brew at a local deli/take-out joint. Hopefully this will go down, Haven't had an Ale in a while.

Appearance: Light yellow, almost crisp like that actually had about an inch of head that dissipated quickly. Quicker than I thought.

Smell: Grassy, pale hops with a snap of caramel, but not easily noticeable.

Taste: At first it seemed well-balanced, but this wasn't really impressing me at all. I was hoping for more of a bite, but all I really got out of this beer was some thick hops, somewhat sweet but nothing too impressive. In fact, this is a somewhat boring beer.

Mouthfeel: Mediocre carbonation, not too bad on the way down I must say. Just something too bland.

Overall: At first glance, I wasn't expecting much out of this beer, and sorry to say Blue Point, I was right. Very bland flavor and nothing shot out at me with anything new. A beer I maybe might recommend to someone who is just starting out drinking new and exciting beers, but something I can't drink all around, let alone in the Summer.

Appearance: Golden in color, go figure. Fits perfectly in the Golden Ale category. The head was a full inch tall, with decent, not great, staying power.

Scent: Very light malt. Basic malts, nothing to special. A bit of biscuit, nuttiness. A tiny touch of hops in the background.

Taste: Very clean, not much going on. Once again I get the malt with a hint of nut. Again a very minimal amount of hops. The taste is similar to a pilsner, though I guess that’s not too far off from a Golden Ale.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with high carbonation. Doesn’t linger on the palate at all.

Overall: Quaffability is key here. This is definitely something I could drink throughout a warm summer’s day. Not much going on, which I’ve come to expect from Summer Ales but this is as flat, flavor-wise, as they come. Nothing stands out. I will forget about this beer by tomorrow. If you want an easy drinking, take to the beach/cookout, warm day playing frisbee beer this will definitely fit the bill.

I thought this was a very good summer ale.

A - Pours the same as most summer ales. Clear yellow with about a 1/2 inch of head that actually sticks around for a while.

S - Smell actually has some pronounced wheat and hops next to your typical lemon wedge and grain.

T - I like it for it's simplicity. The taste starts off with a light lemon not too sour or sweet mixed in with some wheat base and hops in the finish give it a nice bitter twang. They dialed down the harsh grainy flavors so it was very enjoyable.

M - Light and bubbly very easy to get down on a hot fishing day.

Overall this is really just a seasonal purchase and the price was right (mix and match of 9.99) but if I ever need a summer ale this one would be purchased again.

Head fizzled out really fast. Not enough bubbles to support it. 24-karat gold in color. 3.0

Faint grassy smells and a little salty/fishy aroma pulling through. Barely-discernible pale malt offers minimal sweetness. 2.5

Slight wheaty taste witha just a squeak of grassy hops. Very salty cracker. Crushed Saltine beer. Hint of berry fruitiness. 3.0

Thin, watery body. Medium carbonation. Boring. 2.5

Might or might not be a small step up from BMC. Pass on this one every time. 2.5

Pours a blonde color with a one-finger head into my glass. Very much a blonde ale.

Light and refreshing with a limited hop bite (accurate for the style).

Ditto for the taste. Simple, sweet malt with a touch of hops. Nothing more, nothing less. Will appeal to those used to light lagers.

Lingering flavors are nothing out of the usual.

Worth a shot if you're not big on microbrews.

Appearance: Pale yellow, clear, with a small white head, so-so retention and modest lace.

Aroma: Light graininess, faint grassy hops, lemon, sweet malt.

Taste: Thin and slightly lemony, touch of sweeter malty caramel flavor, reserved citrus and grassy hoppiness mostly noticeable in the finish. Subtle underlying bitterness. A little bland overall.

Mouthfeel: On the thinner side with good carbonation. Crisp and clean, but there’s something a little lacking here that keeps it from being truly quenching.

Overall: An easy drinking but ultimately forgettable blonde.

Top five summer beers in my opinion. A very full-flavored yet easy-drinking crisp summer brew. A perfect companion to a hot summer day BBQ on a rooftop in New York City. I love when a brewery finds a winning recipe and sticks with it. There is no need to fix what ain't broken.

A – Light golden honey. Creamy, tightly bubbled head. Nice lace and great retention.

S – Fairly light. Light malt, touch of sour pear and tart apple. Washed lemons. Fresh grass.

T – Soft lemon acidity paves the way for a grassy center and a pine and peppery finish.

M – Medium light body. Ok carbonation. Light dryness on the backend.

O – Starts bright and ends relatively clean.

Pours a pure gold with no head. Absolutely no smell. It's about now I'm concerned about beer quality...it's late summer and the bar seems to be pushing this beer hard. Taste is light crystal malt, a little wheat, and very mild hop character. Mouthfeel is light, crisp, and refreshing.

Overall this is a rather weak beer. Forgettable all around.

Pours a warm yellow-orange color with a thin cream-colored head. The aroma features a faint combination of light, lemony wheat characteristics and a slight citric tartness. The flavor is likewise light, with a mild fruitiness that seems like some combination of banana and orange. The texture is light and fizzy, which works with the mild flavors. Overall, this one is a pleasant, easy beer that is appropriate for the heat of summer, but there is nothing that stands out among other mild summer offerings.

Pours yellow with a nice little head.

The smell is sweet, like a ncie German pilsner with a bit of honey added. Fresh grain is also present.

Lots of honey is present to start with a light grain further on with a finish of sweet malt and lingering honey.

Thee feel is full-bodied with a nice refreshing quality.

This is a great summer brew and was a very pelasant surprise. I really like the honey aspect of this beer.

a: Golden color reminder more of a lager feel not of an ale.

s: Smelled very much like a malty I didn't get to much of a hoppy/floral taste

t: Not very carbonated so if you want to drink a few at a party it will not what I call "fill you up." to me this tended to be more of a ale and lager fusion.

m: very light on the pallet for a hot summer day.

o: Overall I found this beer to be something to bring to a party to add to the beer selection. It's not too heavy so it won't "fill you" and it will satisfy a lager drinker becuase it doesn't have that heavy ale feel.

S: Doughy wheatiness up front, followed by some soft floral notes, daisies and light lavender mostly.

L: Crystal clear golden yellow, tight white creamy head with 1/4 inch retention and ok lacing.

T: Soft malty sweetness followed by a bitter orange rind. Finishes quite clean with more light malty sweetness. Some grainy grassiness as it warms.

M: Medium light body, medium carbonation.

Not bad, nothing special though, much better options out there.

a: thin and water appearance with tons of carbonation. Huge white head that settles unevenly. Golden/water hue.

s: light chewy malt smell. Not overly sweet or citrusy as I'd hope. funky water smell in the back.

t: malty malty. light nutty malts on the open and the close. Not a bad flavor, but not the overall flavor i wanted from this. very simple in the taste profile. possible hints of lemon and grass in here.

m: too thin, not as much fizz as it looks but that is okay on this one. very very thin. that lack of fizz makes it pleasantly creamy though, especially in the aftertaste.

o: glad I tried, but don't need it again. not a fan of overly malty beers and that is what this is...too much so at a lowly 4.4%.
