Saw this at Half-Time and bought two bottles since this is a favorite brewery of mine. The label was awesome!

I poured this beer into the special Sam Adams glass. It poured great with about 2 fingers of head. The color was a dark topaz, slightly lighter than one would expect but certainly not too light in color.

The aroma was of sweet malt with no hop character; what you'd expect for the style

The flavors were on point but on the mild side. It certainly had the expected flavor but was not over-powering. This made it a great session beer. I only had one, but suspect it wouldn't be difficult to work through a 6-pack of these.

It was very smooth drinking, great flavor and not heavy.

I'd have to say it's one of the better domestic Oktoberfests I've had and would put it up against Sam Adams version.

Pours a clear copper color with an average white head that dissipates into a slight ring. The aroma is of buttery caramel malt, little rust, and a small hop spice. The taste is of sweet caramel malt, quite buttery, some honey, not much in the way of hops. Reminds me of a more malty version of their toasted lager. The buttery taste seems out of place for an Oktoberfest. The feel is moderate, slightly chewy, well carbonated, finishes with a malty sweetness. Not a bad beer but I have had better Oktoberfests. This one seems to miss the mark with the buttery flavor.

A: The beer is clear amber in color and poured with a finger high head that quickly died down leaving a thin layer of bubbles consistently covering the surface. A light to moderate amount of carbonation is visible.
S: There are faint aromas of caramel malts in the nose.
T: The taste has a slight amount of sweetness and is filled with flavors of bready and caramel malts. The hops contribute a very mild amount of bitterness and spiciness to the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied, smooth and a bit watery on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
D: The beer is very easy to drink and goes down smoothly. I could definitely drink a few of these in one sitting.

One of the best American Oktoberfests!

Pours a nice rich amber color with a long-lasting off-white head with some nice lacing.

Beautiful aromatic nose of malts and caramel.

Just a wonderful tasting marzen with a balance of mild hops and delightful sweetness.

Gets even better when it when it warms to room temperature.

I bought two six packs at Publix and I am really savoring them!

Even though I live in New York it seems that this brewery has all of a sudden become available everywhere.

Nice deep amber color with nice rich head. Very smooth although a little on the light side for a marzen. While other reviewers noted that this was on the simple side I think that it is an advantage for this beer. Very drinkable with a sweet taste while finishing with a slight spicy taste.

Bottle purchased at Acme Bar and Pizza in Rochester, NY.

Pours a clear light amber, with a half inch head, and a little bit of lacing.

Doesn't smell like a whole lot, a little bit honey, some toasted bread, and lager yeast.

The taste is pretty similar. Just not a whole lot going on here, a really pedestrian Oktoberfest. Doesn't necessarily taste bad, just boring. All of the notes mentioned in the aroma are present in the taste.

This one is fairly light bodied, with a lower amount of carbonation. Fairly drinkable.

Not bad, but not really that good, either.

picked this bottle up in the mix-a-six cooler at Al's of Hampden. The beer was poured chilled from a 12oz brown bottle into a mug.

A light copper color with honey tea-like hues with thick band of light tan cream cap -smooth and foamy which settles and becomes rocky. The bead is fine and visible carbonation is evident with great clarity and retention is very good. The lacing sticks in a web-like pattern -a pretty beer to behold. The aroma is good with a nice floral ester and slight toasted/caramel note from the malt, no diacetyl evident. The smell has a light spice accent and seems to give off some herbal notes from the hops. The feel is good with mild carbonation and slightly bready toasted texture and mild caramel sweetness. There is a light alcohol presence and finish is semi-dry.

The flavor is good, nice malt which has a slightly honey-like fruitiness and mellow spice from the hop in the background. I enjoy the mellow caramel presence from the malt, but toastiness is mild and hops could be more forward. I like the yeast's role in this which is mild, yet it could use a little more character. I think it is pretty easy to drink and still represents the style ok -a refreshing lager without a whole lot of German yeast character or hops, but still very drinkable and no major flaws to speak of.

I would place this in my top-tier of domestic Oktoberbests, one I would not regret purchasing a six-pack or two of. Fresh taste and full-bodied, rich malt with slight bitterness.

Another average offering that I found in the  like your spirit, fridge and decided to take a crack at last night. Served cold and poured into a pint glass, this one was consumed on 03/01/2010.
The pour was nothing terribly crazy, a nice amber color with a great clarity fills the glass. Nice streams of bubbles that rippled up toward the surface gave it a good bit of depth and created a nice moderate to medium capping of white that clung to the sides for a little while before letting itself go. Muted bready malts. Hints of light grain and a touch of some light spice, but everything was too light and muted for me. Not enough in the way of herbal hoppiness or depth to keep me interested. Same could be said as I took the first sip, while not really being bad in any way, it was just rather uninteresting. Bready grains, hints of something musky, and a touch of light pine maybe, but very muted. Smooth and even taste with a clean and concise finish. Drinkable, but most anything can be, I found myself bored halfway though the glass.
Overall it just really needed a little bit more for me to really get a grip of this one. I thought it was ok, but to be honest just needed more to finish it off.

12 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a pretty, clear, lighter golden color with a quarter of a finger of white head that quickly dissolved into a very thin halo of foam that gripped the sides of the glass and formed a few wispy clouds that collected in the center of the top of the beer.

Aroma: Like most Oktoberfest beers, it is very malty and bready, with notes of freshly baked bread or pretzels, and some notes of caramel, black pepper and clover.

Taste: Very similar to the aroma, lots of bready malt up front, followed by some caramel-like sweetness and nicely rounded out by some wonderfully balanced hoppy bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium with some good carbonation to tickle the taste buds. With an ABV of only 5.5% there is no alcohol presence on the palate

Overall: This is another very solid American example of an Oktoberfest beer. Nicely balanced, extremely quaffable. I liked it a lot, and I’ll certainly add it to my Oktoberfest rotation.

I poured this beer into my tumbler at 50 degrees. The beer was a orangy golden color. The beer had a off white looking head that started off great but did not last long. The smell of this beer was slightly sweet. The taste was nice with a hint of caramel and a slightly bitter finish. Good beer that I will buy again.

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Decent retention and poor lacing. Smells of sweet malt, pale malt, hint of caramel malt, slight hops, and a hint of yeast. Fits the style of an Marzen / Oktoberfest. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, pale malt, hint of yeast, hint of hops, and slight caramel malt. Overall, a more traditional Marzen, but mild body with a good blend.
