Saw this at Half-Time and bought two bottles since this is a favorite brewery of mine. The label was awesome!

I poured this beer into the special Sam Adams glass. It poured great with about 2 fingers of head. The color was a dark topaz, slightly lighter than one would expect but certainly not too light in color.

The aroma was of sweet malt with no hop character; what you'd expect for the style

The flavors were on point but on the mild side. It certainly had the expected flavor but was not over-powering. This made it a great session beer. I only had one, but suspect it wouldn't be difficult to work through a 6-pack of these.

It was very smooth drinking, great flavor and not heavy.

I'd have to say it's one of the better domestic Oktoberfests I've had and would put it up against Sam Adams version.

Tasting this after a German oktoberfest, the Blue Point tastes very hoppy! Floral hops on the nose, with a bit of malt too. Great mouthfeel/texture. The hops provide a fruity aspect on the palate that overrides the malt. An untraditional, hop forward oktoberfest. For what it is, though, this is a very drinkable beer.

Im sampling a cellar temp 12 oz bottle poured into my .5L dimple mug. Picked up as part of Oktoberfest package from Half Time and just didnt get to this bottle. Datestamp 06feb2022.
The beer pours a bright clear copper color with a light frothy eggshell white head of 1.5 cm. This foam fades to a wispy island and nothing else. The aroma is a bit of toasted malts and some toffee. There are faint whiffs of grassy hops and maybe a bit of lemon. No hints of any ABV. The nose is very mild and faint overall.
First sip reveals a light body with very fine and tingly carbonation. Texture is light and slightly coating on my lips.
Flavor is some toffee and a bit of toasted grain. the toasted notes linger a bit after each swallow. I dont really get any hop notes on the finish and the beer drinks super easy.
The flavor is mild just like the nose. The beer drinks fast, with sort of average flavor. Not one of the best oktoberfests that I drank recently. Kinda meh beer.

12 oz bottle, poured into a nucleated teku at ~40 degrees F.

L: Pours a mostly clear honey-copper, and forms a couple fingers of white foam that dissipate semi-quickly.

S: Somewhat like how a not-yet-glazed donut fresh out of the fryer might smell, I imagine.

T: On taste, this opens as solid sweet caramel malt, and ends as solid bitter earthy herbaceousness. There's not much else going on, aside from that transition.

F: Somewhere in the grey space between light and medium, with a watery breakdown by the finish.

O: Assuredly not a favorite marzen for me, and one I shall likely not repeat.

Yet another Märzen for the tasting event supplied by Half Time. I wish they had sent more Festbiers to keep things balanced, but oh well. This is probably the one I’ve been least excited to try, it’s a relatively low rated beer from a brewery owned by AB. Oh well, let’s just crack it open

Pours a mostly clear amber gold with 3 fingers of creamy off white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing

The nose here isn’t offensive but it isn’t great, it’s an odd blend of sweet and slightly metallic. I’m picking up on aromas of caramel malt, earthy hops, oxidized hops, honey, and light cracker

Yeah, I can see why people say that some American versions of the style are just straight up caramel malt, because that’s exactly what this is. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting caramel malt, golden raisin, toasted bread, and sweet honey. The swallow brings notes of stick sweet caramel, honey, toasted grain, pear, and a touch of diacetyl

A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick and smooth beer. Finished neutral and too sweet

This is definitely my least favorite I’ve had so far this season. Still, it’s not awful, but not ideal

Aroma is really weak but there's buttery sugary dough, dogs,, caramel.
..taste is really nice mix of buttery, nutty doughy bread, malt, brown sugar
Overall its very good, not world class but a nice try at the style. Could see enjoying more of these as the weather cools.

Look: Dark, toasted, clear gold with lots of visible carbonation bubbles. One finger of white head with good retention.

Smell: Grassy hops, biscuity sweet malt, orange peel.

Taste: Bready, dry malt with a slight bitter aftertaste that turns doughy. Little to no hop flavor.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, creamy body with very high carbonation.

Overall: A decent beer, though severely lacking in hops for the style.

(12 oz bottle, 5.7% abv, best by 27JAN20; purchased single off shelf... poured into a 500 ml mug)

L: foam sizzling away upon pour, thin broken ugly cap left; brilliantly-clear, lion-fur amber liquid... thin collar remains, little lace of note

S: rather caramel-malty dominant aromas, little yeast character; weak overall intensity... hard sniffs draw out some generic honey and vague toasted spice

T: a little more nuance upon first sip, though the malt is a bit bloated, lacking dimension with absence of underlying yeast/mineral coloring... baked orange and biscuit nectar interplay all's there is to it; bland aftertaste

F: as with the malt flavor, its body seems a touch inflated up front, though the finish drops away well... still, it feels like a quick ale that was lagered and stripped... little warmth; relatively clean

O: seems like a lousy recipe and execution, saved only by the ultra-fine filtering applied... tried it merely to fill in a gap on my marzen list, but this is seriously one of the lamest genre exercises I've come across in this style (1508)

S: little aroma, what's there is a malty caramel
T: minimal sweetness, some malt, light brown sugar, a hint of lemon in the back end
F: mild carbonation, a little thin with a slight bitter-sweet aftertaste
O: not a bad oktoberfest, but nothing memorable either. I'd place it slightly above average for American versions

Oktoberfest brewed by Blue Point Brewing Company, with an ABV of 5.50% This Oktoberfest pours out of a 12oz bottle into a pint beer glass . The color is a deep golden amber color with a small white head. There is some thin spotty lacing to this brew, the head an lacing go away fast. The smell is rich with grains and malts. There is also a nice amount of sweetness mixed with a little bit of hop bitterness. So far this is a nice inviting brew. Now for the taste , it is Bold with flavors. You first pick up on a sweetness mixed with mild grains and malts. Then the ending is a nice mild hop bitterness. This is a well put together Oktoberfest. I will give it this , this is one of the more sweeter Oktoberfest brews on the market, not saying that is a bad thing. There is nothing overpowering about this brew,it has a super nice balance to it. I can't get over how smooth this brew goes down. The mouth feel is Bold, Rich, Clean, Smooth, and Refreshing. Overall I'm going to give Oktoberfest a soild 4 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again giving the opportunity to. Blue Point Brewing Company, did a super nice job with this Oktoberfest brew.

Golden body with some chill haze that clears as it warms. One and half finger white head that dissipates to a ring around the glass with some spotty but sticky lace.
Nice aroma of toasted grains, crisp apples from the yeast and some grassy and medicinal hops.
Toasted malts in the taste, some honey sweetness, green apple and mild, spicy hops. A bit muddled in the finish.
Medium body and active carbonation. Might mouth feel, crisp finish.

I was surprised by this little guy. Over all it is a nice marzen. Blue Point does ok with lagers.

Amber color with a fluffy thin head with short retention.
Aroma with notes of bread crust, somewhat toasted malts, grassy hops and white grapes.
Flavor with notes of toasted malts, just some caramel-biscuit, white grapes, floral and herbal hops and a bit of spice. Dry aftertaste with a moderate bitterness but making sure it finishes non-sweet.
Light to medium body with good carbonation.
Well-blended and easy to drink Marzen with a subtle but nice hop complexity that does not predominate over the style malt layers.
