On tap at Kickbacks in Jax. Poured into a small snifter. White, fluffy head on a clear coppery body. Lacing lines the glass, clear and soapy. Aroma is crisp, light caramel sweetness, fresh hop bitterness, classic pilsner notes. Taste has mild sweetness, mild bitterness, pilsner yeastiness. Not too complex, very smooth and easy to drink. Not one complaint whatsoever.

Just a really average beer. I love Marzen/Octoberfest, but this one is just blah. I bought a variety pack and this one was disappointing. The flavor hits early and fades late, which seems like a trend from this brewery. I would drink it if it was free, but I doubt I'll pay for it again.

Always a sucker for a new Oktoberfest I haven't tried yet. This offering appears somewhat in between a Helles and a traditional amber Marzen in color, very clear golden amber topped by a large foamy white that leaves a fair amount of lacing as well.

The aroma is pure malty breadiness with just a hint of earthy hos.

The flavor is all about the malt though it has not made the mistake of being overly sweet. There is a bit of a caramel overtone however and the hops are less prevalent than I would prefer.

The mouthfeel is smooth, on the light side of medium and carbonated perfectly.

Overall this is a very drinkable lager though given how nice their Vienna lager is I expected a bit better beer. Still, this is a smooth and very drinkable offering.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a clear honey orange with a small white head on top. No retention left behind. The aroma is light with notes of honey, floral tones, sweet sugary malts. The body is lighter than other Oktos I've had this season. Carbonation gives a light bubbly feel, but this beer lacks the moderate heft I like in this style.

The flavors border on fruity, to a bit of a fault. Pale apple, sweet crackers, juice-like residual sweetness. The main players I expect in the flavor - caramel, malt, bread - are absent, or at least masked quite well under a covering of sweet fruity character. This one missed the mark for me. It wasn't a bad "beer," it just wasn't a great Okto.

Large, soapy, white head froths out the top of my Bruery tulip. Brew is nicely clear and orange in color. Color and complexity seems a bit off.

Smells like a crisp blonde ale... Honey, slightly wheat, bread-y; not overly complex.

Crispy, clean, bread-y and..boring. A slight skunk funk in the taste too.. Nice even carbonation, not sweet. Nailed the feel, but missed the flavor, bad.

This brew (to me) was a total miss. It's off style and not a strong representation of a Marzen. It's refreshing, but I can't recommended it as a Marzen...

One of the best Oktoberfests I have tried this season. Poured from an undated 12 oz. bottle: bright, deep golden hue with a lovely, foamy and sustained white-head.

The aroma is sharper than your typical fest beer: spicy and malty with a nice perfumy aroma.

The flavor is solidly malty while maintaining a refreshing character with a nice hop complement and moderate carbonation. The almost silky smooth mouthfeel leaves a pleasing sweetness on the lips. The body is light to medium with a very quaffable quality. While not very complex, the flavor profile is far more interesting than your typical oktoberfest.

I purchased this lager while visiting my niece in Michigan. I now wish I had purchased some other offerings from this brewery.

picked up a 6'er of these the other day before a jam from a little bodega in bklyn...this was one of the only things that i could be assured was reasonably fresh. i was pleasantly surprised with how much i dug the beer since i had remembered not being blown away by it on draft. fortunately had a bottle left over for tonight to catch some thoughts. enjoyed from a blue point snifter.

a - brew poured a transparent orange with a generous off-white head that left massive chunky streaks of lacing on the side of the glass.

s - very lagery with a tinge of festive pot pouri-ness.

t - much like the nose, rather lagery with a tinge of festive pot pouri-ness.

m - refreshing and easy drinking.

o - overall...hmmm...seem to feel the same way about this beer today as i did from the brewery, but yesterday was LOVING it. what was the difference...well yesterday i drank it from the bottle and today and at the brewery from a glass. i think that this is a beer to drink from the bottle. drinking this one from the bottle seems to tame back some of the lager and focus more on the crystalized malts and pot pouri-ness of the beer. if i don't take a sniff from the glass as i sip it, i find that i dig the flavor more as the lager seems to be dialed back a bit. very interesting. i'm going to give this a 4 on the overall based on this discovery...moving forward this is one to drink directly from the bottle for me.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled 7/30/2012. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a nice 2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice foamy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of pear, apple, caramel, biscuit, toast, grass, herbal, and light earth. Very nice aromas with good strength and balance. Taste of caramel, pear, apple, toast, biscuit, grass, herbal, and light spiciness. Lingering notes of caramel, light fruits, toast, biscuit, and herbal on the finish for a bit. Nice balance of all flavors with no cloying sweetness at all. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy and slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Oktoberfest! Spot on style flavor profile with great balance; extremely smooth to drink. Really enjoyable and true to style all the way.

Setting here enjoying another fall offering ...
A : The appearance is a light brown to copper color , it poured a nice white head.
S : Aromas are typical for the style .... Sweet malt and brown toffee .. Mabe some roasted nuts are present.
T: We can say a easy drinker for sure . Good flavor and finish. You do get the roasted malt and sweet to bitter finish .
M : This beer has a medium mouthfeel and a somewhat longing finish... Let it warm up
O : It's not one the best this season for sure. The beer is lacking the malt and hops in my opinion . Blue Point needs to step it a notch ....

A: Bright orange hue with a clean finger of white head
S: Slight corn and dominant grainy nose,
T: Well carbonated with sweet malt notes of caramel. This beer finishes with a candy-like sweetness.
M: Thin. I was a little disappointed with the mountfeel.
O: This is a well made and drinkable Oktoberfest. However getting this beer in FL I am not sure if it was handled properly from NY to FL. Overall I prefer just a little less more attenuated Oktoberfest. However I would drink this again.

12 oz bottle into a mug.

Pours a crystal clear gold, with several fingers of rich and foamy off-white head. This retains with a thick finger or so that leaves back heavy looking swathes of sudsy lacing. The aroma smells sweet and bready, with an odd lemon tartness thing going on and a bit of a medical feeling tinge as well. Just a touch of leafy spice hangs on the edges and is what gives this any kind of liveliness in the nose.

The taste is sweet toast and light toffee with a citrus presence that has a tart edge to it but isn’t nearly as lemon-like as the nose was. It’s definitely got a tang to it though. This finishes dry, earthy and spicy on the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a softer bubbly feel to the carbonation that just kind of flops around in the mouth.

I don’t know what happened here. Unbalanced sweetness, off-notes, a soft, limp body and lemon? Ugh! I expected much, much more from this beer and didn’t get it. This is unfortunately one of the lesser American O-Fests that I’ve had.

A - Copper colored pour. Beige colored foam. Foam settles quickly. Minimal lacing.

S - Scents of bready malt, dried fruit, and butterscotch.

T - Nice flavors. First sip had an initial sweetness of apricot and figs. The light malt flavor came through but was more of a background flavor. Finish had a slight candy sweetness.

M - Drinkable. This is an easy drinking marzen that goes well with food. Not overbrearing at all, though for someone who enjoys a hearty oktoberfest this may seem a little thin. Slight carbonation is noted.

O - Pleasantly surprised by the local folks. This is a darned good fall seasonal from Blue Point that I'd gladly have again.
