This has become my favorite Iron Hill, it has a great location right on the banks of the Christina River. The IPA's are really appealing and the food is always made better at this one. Just a step up compared to the others. Been here many times. The service is great, always addressing any problems right away. I like the vibe here, its laid back especially if sit outside. The bartender we had last somehow reminded me of Councilman Jamm from the show Parks and Recreation.

Last night in Wilmington and went downtown for dinner. Beautiful location on the riverfront, nice big outside balcony. Beer was average at best, food was OK but nothing special. Some "big" bottles available for sale.

Iron Hill Wilmington is corporate but oh-so-nice. I really enjoy it there. The "riverfront" ain't much (small river, silly views) but the patio is beautiful in the summer.

The wife and I sat at the bar, which I recommend. The tables seem to be too busy on peak hours and weekends, and overrun with children. Prompt, nice service at the bar, she sure knew her beers and food menus.

Seven seasonal beers on tap, including a winter warmer and a German-style weiss, plus the usual Iron Hill lineup. We tried the Scrooge DIPA (weak) and the Big Red DIPA (fantastic). Too bad they didn't have the Imperial Stout...

The food menu is gigantic, like a diner's menu but better quality and more imaginative food. I loved their small plates: eared scallop with corn relish, fried goat cheese on arugula salad. Their pizza, made with malted-barley dough, is delicious as well.

There is a bottle menu, as in other Iron Hill locations, with cool vintage bottles, but way too pricey.

While far from outstanding, this place delivers. No complaints.

My "local" Iron Hill. Always a pleasant experience with great food and brews. The first time visitor should partake in the flight where you can sample the standard brews, as well as the seasonal Belgian and one seasonal on their rotation. I chose the Abbey Dubbel (Belgian Seasonal) on my past visit and it is highly recommended. This time, I took home the growler of Russian Imperial Stout to enjoy at my leisure. A very spacious dining area compared to others, but reservations are STRONGLY recommended!

a neat little spot near the river front area. a big wooden bar with the tanks visible as you walk in. huge facility/restaurant, a little corporate feeling, but new and nice and mellow, dim lights, slightly romantic ambiance, but not overly fancy or anything either, but upscale compared to the baseline taproom certainly. they had a good selection of brews, all the standard stuff a light, a red, a porter, an ipa, etc etc etc. they also had a rotating belgian selection (tripel), and four or five excellent seasonals, including a maple coffee winter warmer in a cask with a cinnamon rim glass (an experience to say the least). all beers were above average and the appetizer i had was excellent (lamb meatballs). good service at the bar too. patrons tended to be city suit types, on the stuffy side, but not dicks to me in any way, just not a blues bar where everyone is baked. good spot to bring a date maybe. excellent bottled selections for purchase and reasonable prices all around. will be here again

Cask Conditioned: Browntown Brown (6.4%) - Creamy smooth, light carbonation and big chocolate malt flavors - outstanding.

On Tap: Iron Hill Light Lager (4.0%, 10 IBU), Vienna Red Lager (4.4%, 22 IBU), Rasberry Wheat (4%, 20 IBU), Ironbound Ale (APA, 4.7%, 30 IBU ), Pig Iron Porter (5.0% 40 IBU), Schwarzbier (5.4%), Browntown Brown and Abbey Dubbel (7%)

A chalkboard in the downstairs bar area identifies what's in fermentation (an Oktoberfest and an Imperial American Red), when brewed, when due and upcoming specials (Pumkin Ale).

There's a medium sized bar area to your left when you first walk in with booth seating, a number of tall bar tables (for 2 or 4) and a U-shaped bar that might fit about 18.

Decent music plays softly, but is easily drowned out by conversation around the bar. Clientele is an urban mix of mostly professionals.

Atmosphere- Clearly a beer-oriented establishment. Nice bar, fantastic riverfront deck... and a beer-centric focus. Out of all the brewpub chains I have been to, this one definitely offers the best atmosphere.

Quality- Commitment to quality shows through in every aspect of Iron Hill... clean facilities, clean utensils, clean draft lines, solid information on their beer and brewing process. Kudos to the staff and management at Iron Hill.

Service- Very good service. Our server was very knowledgable about beer and the craft beer industry as a whole, which was a plus.

Selection- Given the fact that you'll only have Iron Hill's beer here, the selection was impressive... with a range of American, English, Belgian and German styles.

Food- The food ranged from good to very good, depending on the dish. The menu was diverse, and some dishes were even prepared with beer. The high food prices, however, kept the food rating from being a 4.5.

Not a bad place - the atmosphere is a little spare and cold (sometime literally), but the beer is pretty good, the service is quite good, and the food is decent. Plus it is in a place that is not crawling with great brewpubs and bars, so it has that going for it.

The building is large and modern - steel, wood, and openness. It feels sort of disorienting, particularly upstairs (the downstairs dining room is a bit more intimate). There is also a nice outdoor seating area, both upstairs and down, though the Wilmington waterfront is not a thing of beauty.

The food is straight-up pub food - burgers, sandwiches, and soups and so forth. All are decently executed, but I find there is a tendency toward thickness - it doesn't feel fresh and zippy.

The beer is up and down. The Pale Ales are quite good - hoppy and crisp, but the lagers tend toward the bland. The Belgians and specialty beers (like the wee heavy) are forgettable.

The standout is the service - the staff knows the beer and is quote friendly and helpful. They don't move particularly quickly, but their fun and fairly efficient.

In case you didn't know this already, Wilmington is dead for beer culture. Iron Horse is on the river and despite being a chain, they do brew some nice house stuff. I have never been able to get the quad, but the maibock I had this time was really good. One of those places that brews right to the style but amps it up more than other places like it. The food is quite good as well and the service was always fine. It's a good kind of place to take some family to get a decent burger and salad and a solid beer that won't scare anyone off.

Nice, open atmosphere to the place. I stayed on the ground floor but was told there is another bar upstairs. I liked the bar area-sort of British pub feel. The place really seems top notch without being stuffy. My bartender Jason could not have been any nicer and knowledgable. Had a decent beer knowledge and was generous with the samples. Also thoroughly knew the menu. Selection was great. Iron Hills 5 mainstays and another 5 specialties. I had a Munich dunkel that was flawless. I finished with a Pumpkin Vanilla Porter on cask that was like a piece of spice cake in a glass-just incredible. My food was oustanding as well-I had 2 seperate appetizers-voodoo shrimp and lettuce wraps. Both were excellent, presented well and generous helpings. They might seem a bit pricey but for the amount of food I had, quality of the place, and being a downtown location I felt it was more then fair. A great experience all in for sure. I look forward to my one night a week in Wilmington now from a whole new perspective.

They also had about 10 different private reserve beers available in 750 mls. Be sure to ask!

building looks pretty cool from the outside - rectangular brick industrial style with a few strategically placed windows, huge Iron Hill mural, and a shadowy crane looming on the riverfront behind, brewing equipment visible at the entrance, through the front door and straight to the downstairs barroom - apparently I should've explored the upstairs but it didn't occur to me at the time, all wood and metal with big windows overlooking the river though it's hardly visible, pretty tame crowd on this Wednesday night

around ten house beers on tap, including one cask and a few seasonals, good range of styles but nothing really edgy or outside the ordinary save for the Hopkowski double red, leaving me to choose a cask pour of the Ironbound APA followed by a Hopkowski, both seemed fresh and tasted quality, standard glassware

for dinner I had the Brasserie burger that was pretty tasty - ordered medium and served medium-well with gruyere and a sour red onion "jam", the bun was crisp on the outside and warm, disappointingly the fries were limp and probably not very fresh

though my Victory visit the night before would be a tough act to follow, overall I had a nice experience and would certainly stop through again in hopes that there'd be some more interesting beers on tap
