Notes / Commercial Description:
An ode to our Dutch heritage, Oranje Weisse is a premium, unfiltered white beer. Predominantly brewed with un-malted wheat which gives it a hazy appearance we've also added two types of orange peel, some coriander, and a touch of anise. The result is a unique flavour combination of citrus and light spice. Our signature yeast reveals a complex aroma and slight tartness on the palate. We recommend serving with a slice of orange on the side of the glass to enhance this refreshing seasonal brew.

I tried this beer on tap on July 9, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a hazy golden yellow with a thin white head that quickly disappeared. The aroma was sweet fruit, wheat, and a generous dose of citrus. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with mild carbonation. The flavour was malty with hints of citrus.

Great big rocky head with great lacing. Hazy and opaque straw-coloured body. Beautiful-looking stuff.

Tons of coriander on the nose; too much coriander. Bitter orange pith, wheat, astringent, earthy hops and a touch of sweet candy malt.

Coriander overpowers in the mouth as well, with not nearly enough malt to serve as its base. The flavour is on the weak side other than that, with bits of bitter orange pith, wheat and a hint of anise. Definitely needs some more malt sweetness. The aftertaste is of powdery, drying coriander.

Thin, silky body with a medium carbonation. Nothing special.

Drinkable I guess but it seems as if someone spilled a giant bag of ground coriander into the brew tank.

Had on tap at C'est What's 2010 Fall Festival of Craft Breweries. Pours a pale yellow with white head. Nice lacing down the glass. Tons of orange in the smell, with some of the typical aroma of a wheat beer. Flavour isn't as nice as the smell, more muted. Ok carbonation level.

A: Honey yellow cloudy, some carbonation, huge off white yellowish head.

S: Offal, bubble gum, coriander, dry naval orange, Belgian yeast, light smokiness.

T: Light and refreshing light citrus orange again it’s a dry naval orange type, some bubble gum, plastic or wax paper, coriander, light smokiness, not getting the same Belgian yeast I got on the nose.

M: Light body, medium low carbonation, dry finish.

O: The bottle is bright orange and impressive, the taste is mediocre, certainly not this brewery's best brew but light and summery and refreshing.

A - poured a half finger head, cloudy with no light passing through, patchy lacing

S - orange, bananas, and bready fruit

T - wheat, an unusual orange flavor, cloves, coriander, bananas - one I could not figure out - must be the anise - very unbalanced could be much better

M - decent carbonation and bitterness and pretty smooth

O - it went off base on the taste but with some tweaking this really could be a good brew - will try again in a couple of years

Serving Type - 500ml cool lookin' orange bottle poured into a weizen glass

Appearance - Pours a cloudy straw colour, shines golden when help up to the light. On top sits a great big head, about 2-3 fingers. It dissipates quickly. A moderate degree of lacing is left behind.

Smell - Wheat and orange citrus with some spicy undertones. Not as much orange as I was hoping. Pretty average.

Taste - Really not as much orange as I was expecting. There's definitely some orange there, with come coriander as well. There are some light spices again, and some wheat as expected.

Mouthfeel - Very to medium carbonation, pretty crisp finish.

Pours a hazy pale gold with an inch of pearl-white head. Nice, thicker lacing. Estery and yeasty nose..but a little bit of sulfur when I swirl it in the glass. Coriander, wheat and some orange..lots of yeast, kind of like a hefe/saison to me. Average mouthfeel, something is a little off about the beer, maybe just brewed in haste. But overall not a bad beer and I'd give it a try again next year if it's still around.
