Hop Heads rejoice! This naturally carbonated, unfiltered I.P.A is loaded with citrus and pine aromas from a continuous hopping technique that our brewers use to create this one of a kind beer. Fully acknowledging that I'm in the minority on this one, but I find Boneshaker to have a pretty intense "bile"-type flavour profile that makes drinking it a somewhat mixed bag for me.

Look: This beer is the typical IPA in terms of look. The body has a slightly dark amber colour. Think of a dark honey. However, I have some reservation about the head. It is less than one finger and because of the low carbonation, it dissipates after two minutes, the time one normally takes to visually enjoy the beer before taking a sip. If anything, the head leaves a ring and some sediments on top of the body after its dissipation.

Smell: A mild aroma of citrus. The pine was overpowered by it in the aroma.

Taste: I love the consistency of this beer. It maintains its notes of pine mellowed by a few drops of citrus. At the back end, the notes of pine wood is reinforced. However, the hops' bitterness doesn't explode; it just is stronger as it is about to enter your mouth.

Feel: The beer leaves a little bit of cream on the glass as you drink it. In my mouth, the beer went down moderately fast. Do not expect to experience some heat in your solar plexus after a sip.

Overall: This IPA is well-made. Although I don't mind sensing a little bit of fruitiness on the front end, the Amsterdam Boneshaker IPA respects the style by the book. While this adherence to the guidelines might deprive this beer of a signature, I can see this beer being used as an example of a nice IPA in a brewing school.

Bought 24 x 473ml brown cans with skeleton riding the bone shaker bike.
Maybe it was drinking from can, but sensed a slight metallic taste. Initial few times drinking this beer I was disappointed with the taste. Maybe not as sweet as NW IPAs? But during the week I got used to it. Also find the 7.1% goes down smooth until the last few ounces are pretty harsh. Unnecessary. Could/should be a 5% beer. Anyway, felt good knowing it was brewed within a few miles if where I was staying and I wish them the best of luck.

Great ipa. Great flavor. Alcohol a little high. Watch out for a hangover.

Really has a märzen character to the maltiness of it with grassy, green, slightly herbal hops off-setting this grainy flavor. Pours alright and settles to a film, good lacing. Some potpourri-esque citrus, slightly sticky. Lots of teeny bubbles makes it feel like light+ bodied creamy sandpaper.

Long lasting light tan head on the pour out of the can, says "Unfiltered" but small amount of haze aside it's mainly a clear medium amber in the glass. Fresh hop in the nose, not so piney as claimed but more citrus/grapefruit than anything, smells fresh and inviting. Gently carbonated. Flavors of sharp happiness dominates, there's some juicy and fruity malt tones but mainly you get hops, hops, hops. Kinda thin on the mouthfeel, there's a long and quite hoppy finish. All in all its a decent IPA.

Decent IPA with a good malty body backing up lots of bitterness but rather unexciting hop flavor and in particular aroma
