Deep amber orange colour with two fingers of white head, some lace. Smell is loaded with fruit up front, orange and pineapple dominate, citrusy with a light lingering pine presence, sweet candy/sugar cookie like malts as well. Taste is also quite fruity with tropical/citrus flavours, orange, melon, pineapple, a bit of sweetness mid palate with a bit of pine resin flavour also, moderatley bitter throughout. Mouthfeel is oily and quite slick, mildly carbonated and fairly full bodied. Really quite nice and actually prefered the bottled version at home to the draft version but something I will certainly order again.

Cask at Bar Volo. Floral hop aroma. Hazy grapefruit coloured body. Above average mouthfeel. A good blend of malt and juicy hops, some sugar, aiding the palate. Above average DIPA.A sipper, still good drinkability for a 9% bitter beer. Some booziness in the finish.

Purchased at the LCBO for a might steep $16.95 for a 6pk. I say again MIGHTY steep for a 6pk of 341ml bottles. Served at 4deg C in a draught glass.

A- Opens well and pours a 1/4" high white head that films out within a minute. Rather dark gold colour and filtered clear. Has a touch of a red hue to it.

S- Not what I expected. This has a mellow scent. Not a lot here.

T- Very boneshaker style so citra hops. Also tastes like some cascade, Columbus and Chinook hops are in there as it has that certain bitter bite to it. Has quite a bit of heat. Due to the selection of hops you get your standard grapefruit flavor. Overall the malt is heavy but this is a DIPA for you.

M- Creamy and sticky

O- I like the brew ok but prefer Boneshaker believe it or not. This brew can benefit from a lightening of the sugar and addition of some depth by blending in some moderate flavor hops such as a fuggle. Yes it's not the rage but if the blend is right it will definitely make this one a 4.5 on the flavor scale. Not pinning it down to fuggle but just a bit of contradictory to the "C" hop base.

Food Pairing

This nice little DIPA went very well with...... BBQ hamburger with cheese, tomato, onion, mayo on the bun with a pickle on the side.

Enjoy!!

Thanks for this and all of the killer brews, Liamt07! Cheers!!

Appearance. Pours a clear copper with half a finger of off white head.

Smell. Big grapefruit and tropical fruits, a little pine and some nice toasted caramel malts.

Taste. Nice big trpoical fruits and grapefruit rinds, sweet caramel malts, alcohol is really well hidden.

Mouthfeel. Medium+ body, medium-lowish carbonation.

Overall. I normally don't like such a sweet malt base with a big ipa, but this works great. Like canied tropical fruits and grapefruit rinds. Nice stuff. Thanks again Liam.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a relatively large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma consists of citrusy hops with light floral notes and some sweet malt y notes. Taste is also dominated by some floral citrusy hops notes with a medium sweet malt backbone. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable but nothing to really write home about.
