UPDATED REVIEW: Woah, woah, woah. I saw a banner saying that they had the best craft beer selection in the Merrimack Valley when I drove by it a few weeks ago. I immediately took a left into the parking lot to check it out. They have really updated their selection. They are expensive compared to other retailers in the area, but they have an above average selection (not the BEST, as the banner stated, but still worth a stop in). They seem to be a dollar more per beer than other places.

OLD REVEIEW: McAloons has a lot of 6 packs and 12 packs of regional powerhouses like Harpoon, Smuttynose, Ipswich/Stone Cat, The Tap and desirable brewers like Sierra Nevada, Dogfish Head 60/90, Hoegaarden, etc. What they lack is bombers and any beers that are outside of the norm. It seems like they are far more interested in selling wine than beer or hard alcohol. Also, The warm 6 packs they sell are located directly under the heating duct. I went in there the other day and it seemed like it was 80 degrees in that corner and there was a hot breeze blowing. The prices are average.

This store was a hot mess no other way to really describe it. There was stuff everywhere in the beer aisle which is tight to begin with and a lot of it was still sealed in the cases. Half the product had no price on it and stuff was so scattered it was like an easter egg hunt to find anything so I left without making a purchase and won't go back next time i'm in the area.

This is located in a small shopping plaza on Route 125 in North Andover and the driveway is a little tricky to see because it is on the corner of a one-way street that does not lead to the plaza. The place felt cramped but the staff seemed to be enjoying themselves. There is a craft aisle with many local favorites such as Haverhill brewery, Pretty Things, and Cape Cod. They must have had every Great Divide Yeti variation that is available in Massachusetts. It's another Massachusetts packy with more liquor than beer. A majority of what they sell is widely available in better bottle shops but you might stumble on something unique.

I really like this store because the owner is making a big effort to promote the newly added craft beer section. They advertise themselves as having the "best" craft beer selection in Merrimack Valley. While the selection is good it's not quite the best just yet. But I have a feeling once more craft beer customers shop here the better the selection will get.

The customer service here is great. Everyone at the register is friendly and if the owner is there he's always up for talking beer with you. I haven't made any requests here for a specialty order so I'm not sure how good they are about that stuff, but I have a feeling they would do whatever they can to get you what you want.

Pricing is decent and pretty much on par with everyone else. My only complaint is the more rare/limited stuff tends to be more expensive than the other stores.

All in all I'm happy I discovered this store. It's now part of my weekly craft beer store rotation.

This store recently dedicated an entire wall to craft beer. They now have quite an eclectic selection of brewers and styles to choose from. They now carry brewers such as Allagash, Ommegang, Pretty Things, Dogfish Head, Victory, Rogue, Stone, Harpoon, Founders, Sam Adam's Utopias and many others. Indeed, many many bombers to choose from here.

I for one think this is fantastic for an established store like McAloon's to branch out and cater to a new audience. They have been promoting their new craft beer section vigorously and have even held a craft beer tasting. They are promising to hold more in the future.

Also, the owners and workers are always quite friendly, humorous and knowledgeable, plus there is plenty of parking. All in all this is a really great suburban store, I go every time I'm in town.

McAloon's is a modest sized liquor store on Route 125 near Main St. in North Andover. It is connected to a convenience store. I was impressed by the decent selection of beer for a store of this size. There was a good selection of regional microbrews (lots of Ipswich, Wachusett, Harpoon, Smuttynose, etc.) as well as a good variety of other micros from around the country. There were some European imports as well. Many beers were available cold as well as warm. The prices were good, and the service was good. During my recent visit they were offering free logo pint glasses with the purchase of certain beers.
