In this quite dark ale, dark malts provide flavors of coffee and dried fruit. Try with dark chocolate, cheese or red meat dishes.

A: Dark dark brown with nice ruby notes at the edges. From what I can tell it is super clear. There was a light mocha head upon pouring but didn't last much beyond that.
S: Chocolate and roasted malt right off the bat. Good balanced aroma. Not too sweet or too roasty.
T: Nice strong but balanced flavor. Light roasted malt, good strong chocolate, and some nice coffee. Right to style, minus the hops (but its not fresh). Nothing remarkable unfortunately but a very solid beer.
M: A bit on the thin side for a porter perhaps. I can't really aruge though.
D: This one I'm rating against the style as opposed to pure personal opinion. This is a great example of a porter but it doesn't stand out.

Profoundly dark brown with a tan head that rises about two fingers in height and slowly recedes to a thin film.Decent retention with slight lacing.
Gentle roast notes make way for a smooth malt ride: mild chocolate notes, hints of earthy barley, and a nod towards caramalt. Also a hint of old fruit and earthiness.
The flavor starts with a blend of the aforementioned roasted malts and a vinous note that is a little "old" fruit, and almost leather to red wine barrel tasting. This really does develop, drift in one direction, come back, and meld together. A lot going on here.
Mouthfeel starts out almost fluffy before settling in to a medium heft. On the back end it moves from mildly fruity and sweet to a slightly bitter finish.
Overall, this is a really nice ride. I haven't had a "Baltic" porter, that hits the traditional notes, in quite a while.

Pours deep brown with a modest one finger mocha head. Not as dense or heavy as a stout, so a legit porter here. The nose is roasty; the flavor though is different. There is more emphasis on a sweeter profile, dark fruit and chocolate most prominent. The robust flavor deepens as the beer warms. I recommend serving this brew at 55F degrees to unleash the full flavor profile. A solid Baltic style porter. Currently pining for the fjords.

Bottled 21.06.23. Currently drinking this while overlooking the Oslofjord near Moss. How fitting. Happy to see this brewery still going strong. A high quality, delicious porter. Paired perfectly with the fire I made and the cool, damp mid-September night. Rich, roasty, with plenty of charred malt and dark chocolate. Smooth, clean, and not heavy which is what makes porters so great.

Pours a deep dark brown to black with a finger of beige head. The nose is roasty. The flavor is equally roasty with a hint or smoke and a smidge of sweetness on the finish.

Bottled & I swear these Nøgne 0.5l bottles look bigger than half a litre
Pours a jet black body with big sticking foamy off white head
Smell like burned toast with bramble jam
That in the flavour with an acid char finish
