Poured into a flute.

The beer is a dark brown, immediately calling to mind roasted grains.

The aroma is wonderfully enticing, dark roasted grains and bitter chocolate.

The taste is divine. It tasted like heavily roasted grains, the absolute darkest roast you can imagine, but that's not doing it justice. My taste buds cried out in joy with every sip. Easily one of the tastiest imperial stouts I've had.

The alcohol in this beer is very well hidden, and it drinks easy for such a strong and heavy beer. I could easily drink this all day, if it weren't for the alcohol content.

Overall, this is one of the finest imperial stouts that I've had. It doesn't have bitterness of Stone, Stormking, or even Rasputin, nor the malt taste of Samuel Smith and Brooklyn, nor the coffee of Founders. This beer is all about the darkest roast, and thus is unlike any other RIS I've had recently. One of my favorite imperial stouts.

Growler into pint glass. Pours an opaque black with a brief tan head. No lacing. Initial impression is chocolate, dark fruits, molasses, and a hint of oak char. Mouthfeel is thick and smooth. Finish fades to a slight sweetness. Overall, a very enjoyable RIS but not best in class.

500 ml bottle poured into a shaker style pint glass.
Best by: 7/27/25

L: Fairly clear dark brown, blacks out the glass, leaves an oily residue and spots of foam on the glass, 2 finger ruddy-brown head with good retention.
S: Somewhat subdued nose, mineral notes to open then malty milk chocolate, light roast, notes of fruity esters.
T: Malty and strong, milk and dark chocolate, light roast, only hints of char, nutty, earthy hops, some light mineral character.
F: Medium-full body, smooth and creamy viscosity, low carbonation.
O: Less sharp char than most examples of the style I've had, very good stout.

Deep dark black colour. Tan head. Smell and taste are nice standard russian Imperial stout. Mouthfeel is a bit fizzy for me, gives it a lighter feel when i want something thicker, even at 9%>

L: Pours a deep, dark brown that forms a thin mocha head, about 1cm deep. Head dissipates fairly quickly with minimal lacing, but a decent cloudy retention on top. When held to the light, the beer has an exceedingly dark brown hue and is utterly opaque.

S: Roasted malts, chocolate, burnt sugar, faint coffee.

T: Coffee, roasted malts, dark fruit, brown sugar, chocolate. Leather and wood, and a little smokey towards the end. Good taste.

F: Medium-to-full body, practically no carbonation. Moderately creamy, but not excessive. Velvety towards the end.

O: This a great imperial stout, bitter and not especially complex. Very much enjoyable and drinkable; not an excessively high ABV.

500ml bottle, date codes: 27.05.25, 17.08.21, 2468
Look: nice looking beer, black body that doesn't let any light thru, nice medium brown head that leaves some lacing.
Smell: chocolate, dark fruit, roast, brown sugar
Taste: follows the nose, plus a hint of red wine, cherry wood, and maybe coffee. Smooth. Not really all that bitter. Has some sweet notes to it. ABV is well hidden. Not harsh in anyway
Feel: good, not thin, low carbonation

A solid beer, I like it, 4.10/5
