Poured from a half-litre bottle into a Rochefort chalice.

Hazy orange with no head.
Smells bready -- sourdough? lovely fresh, yeast -- with a hint of sugar and spice.
Oh. Strange. Tastes like they've put candy sugar into it. ("Guys, we're making a quad, right? Oh. Damn. Let's just roll with it anyway.") Very sweet, almost syrupy, but in a pleasant brown sugar sense instead of anything cloying. Yeast is sadly distant, only popping in right at the endtaste.
Not a conventional tripel. The label mentions how difficult it is to brew properly, and they should have listened to their own advice. Still rather tasty!

500ml Bottle

Poured into a chalice a very nice slightly cloudy dark golden yellow color, nice carbonation, with a quick fizzy white head, which does leave a nice small island and some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, fruity, slightly spicy. The taste is very nice, malty, very nice yeast note, sweet, nice little fruityness, with some slight spice. Medium body, ABV is hidden very very well with this one. Overall, this is a very nice Tripel, slightly different take on the style.

L: Pours hazy light amberunder a 1” off-white clingy foam collar.
S: Yeast and fruit aromas.
T: Fruit, caramel, bread, biscuit.
F: Very creamy and smooth, medium body.
O: This is a good beer but it needs a little more cowbell (hops and/or esters) to really pop.

Hazy orange with a nice small frothy head, really messy.
Nice spicy yeasts on the nose, with pepper and coriander seed, citrus peel, yellow apple, bit of pear, wheat, a touch of alcoholic warmth.
Sweet orchard fruit up front, lots of apple, pear and quince, some banana, with a light smoked apricot note, slightly artificial, probably from the peated malts. Soft honeyish floral notes, some malt sweetness, lots of spicy yeasts, peppery and herbal. Finishes with a bit of hop too, but not so bitter.
Medium body with a low, smooth carbonation. A bit creamy. Aftertaste has lots of spicy yeasts (big clove), some nice lingering fruitiness too, a bit too sweet.
A decent tripel, but also weird, maybe the elements didn't fit so well.
