Golden brown color, hazy, with a decent white head. Aromas are intense, mainly containing orange, malt, grapefruit, honey and ripe grapes. Enormous bitterness from the beginning on, accompanied by sugary, burned malts. Oily, slick mouthfeel, medium bodied. Aftertaste is defined by an intense, long staying bitterness. Carbonation is low, doesnt support the bitterness as much as the sweet malts. Hops tend to be full of lime and pine, wrapped in honey. The usual flavors of refreshing tropical fruits are missing. Bitterness kicks in very sharp and intense, buts stays in overall balance, due to the present malt-backbone, adding a warm, sweet note to the beer.

Look: hazy amber, no head, lacing is masked by opacity
Smell: very malt forward, hop aroma is barely detectable
Taste: again very malt forward, but a better balance with the hops than the aroma
Feel: nice mouthfeel, smooth
Overall: an OK imperial IPA; I think this is my first from Nøgne Ø, perhaps I will try another, the India Saison sounds enticing

L: Pours hazy iced tea to coffee color under a moussey and clingy off-white foam collar.
S: Spicy slightly tart nose with traces of fruit, malt and rye.
T: Big barley backbone with plum, pear, citrus, grape, and grains. Lingering dark rye bread flavors with a bread crust citrus rind bitter accent.
F: Very creamy, full bodied with slight warming.
O: Very rich and fruity. One of the more interesting, complex DIPAs out there that features sophisticated hopping.

Looks okay, no head, no visible carbonation or lacing. Smells kind of old, no bottling date can be found. Smells sweet, maybe a touch of caramel, no hop aroma at all. Taste is too sweet, no hops at all and a kind of chemical aftertaste. There is no carbonation in this bottle at all which along with the lack of bitterness really makes the maltiness overbearing. Overall, maybe this is an old or bad bottle, I don't know, but this is very close to a drain pour for me.
