Bottled 2021/04/02
Pours a med fizzy almost 1 finger head with moderate retention, fair messy lacing, semi clear pale golden color with some sediment
Nose brings nice Saazer hops, herbal floral, a bit grassy, noble fresh hop character, then fair amount of cereal grain, straw and some doughy pilsner malt
Taste brings more cereal grain, a touch doughy straw, not a lot of pilsner malt, fair hops, noble Saazer hops again with herbal floral characters, a touch grassy and spicy late, soft lager under that, crisp bitterness on the finish, med lighter bitterness up front then more to med slightly higher late
Mouth is med bod, med frothy carb, soft lager
Overall not bad, decent base pilsner, good Saazer noble hops, lagered well, pretty decent

Poured from a bottle (29Oct2019) into a pint glass
L: quite clear light straw gold (srm ~2) with a thick, fairly dense white head that’s sticking around a couple minutes post pour. Medium visible carbonation, nice lacing
S: sweeter, more American adjunct lager nose at least to start. Cracker, bread, overall malt-forward. Bit of hop bittering but not significant, perhaps a product of age
T: delivers far more than the nose suggested. Refreshing combination of malt and hops right off the bat - sweeter fresh baked bread/dough notes with a spicier/earthier hoppy kick. Grassy, hay, pine. Quite crisp and clean, full flavored without impacting drinkability. Medium/long finish
F: medium/medium+ carbonation, light/light+ body, refreshing, slightly drying
O: good, solid pilsner that delivered on the taste. Something slightly off on the nose, want to chalk that up to age more than anything else

16 oz can poured into slender pint glass. Could night find a canned date. Pours a pale yellow with a two inch fluffy white head, good lacing and retention for most of the glass. The taste and aroma are both fairly light, with bread and a slight grassy note. Fairly light mouthfeel, with a medium amount of carbonation and a touch on the watery side. A good, light Pilsner that I can see working well in the hot summer months.

Picked this up over the summer somewhere down south, though I can't quite remember exactly where! The label drew me in, as well as the description of this beer on it. I can't understand why the ratings were so low for this - sure, it's not a super hopped-up IPA or a barrel-aged infused bourbon brew but this was so enjoyable, balanced, and true to form that I couldn't help but fall in love with it, even though it was bottled on 4/27/16!
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was golden, moderately opaque, and subtly radiant. Lots of light came through around the edges as the head was plentiful and the lacing left behind was quite extensive in sections. An amazing amount of grass and Noble hops could be found in the nose, with some wheat and grass to round things out. A slightly sour tone took hold as I sipped it, with bits of lemon and floral notes combined with a trace of urine (there, I said it) in the mix as well. Incredibly bright, clean, and smooth, this was everything that a good German Pilsner should be without any overly sour or skunky notes to it. A lively carbonation and full malt profile with bread and biscuit really elevated this past "meh" status as the low alcoholic content allowed me to quaff it down quickly and easily.
Session beers don't get any more apparent than this and for being so old, this poured well with hardly any sediment at the bottom of my pint glass. I don't care that this beer didn't get any love - I gave it all the TLC I could as it was a pleasant surprise from start to finish. Had it not been so brutally cold and windy out tonight, this would have been a perfect brew for the outdoors or for mowing the lawn with. Nice job all-around here and proof that beers of this style can be enjoyable and fun without having to hit me over the head from the get-go!

No idea why the low ratings. This is an outstanding pilsner in nearly every way. Bready blend with noble hop aroma and flavor with sweetness and a crisp hoppy finish. Really hits all the marks.
