On tap at Duckworths in Charlotte.

Golden color with excellent clairty. Light white head, great lacing and decent retention.

Great hoppy aroma with notes of citrus and pine. Some undertones of honey and apple in the nose as well.

Wow! What a blast of hops. Initial and finishing bitterness is pretty intense. Getting past that bitterness is "fun". Citrus and strong pine flavors here.

Nearly perfect mouthfeel with great carbonation and excellent flow.

I could definitely drink a lot of this one and at 7% abv it wouldn't completely annihalate my soul. Although the hops would serve me a happy death!

Enjoyed a couple of samples of this at Brewgrass. Glad to run into it again in a reviewable setting. On tap in a shaker pint. Light golden amber body with plenty of sticky lacing from the off-white head.

In spite of the crappy glassware, a huge hoppy burst of aromas greet the nose. I am left to imagine how great this would smell in a tulip or snifter. Scorchingly bitter with a ton of hoppy flavors. Pungent and potent, plentiful pine and grapefruit. Some earthiness and a somewhat gritty feel. This is a beer that would fit in well in the PNW or the west coast. A touch on the thick side, but sweetness is kept in check. I'd love to see them make this again.

Overall impression: A solid choice for hopheads. Those with tamer palates should take a pass on this one. For an east coast DIPA, fairly monstrous. Definitely worth checking out.

Served from cask into a flared pilsner glass. Poured copper with a minimal white head. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, citrus hops, and bitter hops. The flavor was of sweet malt, big citrus hops, and slight bitter hops. It had a medium feel on the palate with low carbonation. Overall this was a pretty nice IIPA. The hops are definitely the star of the show on this one without doubt. The sweet malt aspect tries to balance it out but falls a little short. They definitely named this one appropriately. A MUST try for any hop-head out there.

First review. I travel the country for work and I am a hop lover. I have tasted almost all the best 2x/3x IPA's for the past 10 years- like Pliny the Elder and Younger/Speakeasy 3xIPA/Dreadnaught/Sculpin IPA and this was as good as Pliny and better than Dreadnaught and Sculpin.

Served in a regular pint glass at Thirsty Monk and Duckworth's; this beer pours with a hazy orange color and a 1 finger head. There is great lacing with both pours.

The smell has a lot of citrus characters and is somewhat floral. I don't get much more from this beer but it is enough to keep me interested.

The taste was fantastic. It has a slight sweetness to it up front and then it gets really bitter. If you like your IPA's to have a bitter backbone then this beer is for you. The mouth feel was overly carbonated. If it was toned done just a bit it would have been perfect. I could drink this beer everyday. What a fantastic brew from an unexpected brewery.
