2014 version on draft drank in March 2016. Very complex. Surprised by how prominent sour notes are and the carbonation is more than most imperial stouts. I'm not big on sour beer so this one doesn't do it for me.

Bottle.

A: Slightly chocolate-like malt, big grain roast, with noticeable honey, and big bourbon barrel character.

A: Black color, totally opaque wit a moderate tannish head that quickly receded to a thin film.

T: Big grain roast, slight raspberry sweet/tartness, with moderate bourbon barrel presence. The beer has a light bitterness on the finish.

M: Full Bodied with moderately light carbonation – the beer is fairly viscous.

O: Awesome; the big RIS base is well complimented by the raspberries and bourbon barrel presence. This beer is exact to slowly sip and savor.

A (3/3) - Dark brown, almost black with tan foamy head that dissipates reasonably quickly, leaving traces around the edge for a long time
S (10/12) - Wood and alcohol dominate with honey hinting throughout
T (17/20) - Coffee and...something like fruit preserves...raspberries, that's it! Thanks bottle!
M (5/5) - Medium-bodied with dry finish
O (8/10) - Wow, what a different experience. I'm used to the typical bourbon/chocolate/coffee/booze tetrahedron with a BA stout like this, but this one really threw me for a loop, and had me puzzling over ingredients until I looked at the bottle.

A: Pours really thick and pitch black with a dark tan head. S: Some raspberry and honey, with a good amount of bourbon and a little dark chocolate. T: A hint of raspberry/honey sweetness upfront, with a nice bitter dark chocolate on the back end to cut the sweetness. Not a ton of bourbon, but it definitely helps keep the from being too sweet. M: On the fuller size. It has a little chewiness to it. O: This beer was delicious. Having this side by side with raspberry truffle abduction, this blew that away. It was not as nice of a smell, but it had a great balance on the taste and a chewy mouthfeel that put it in a different class. Well done

Poured from a 22oz glass into a speiglau glass.

Pitch black pour with a tan milk chocolate colored head.

Aroma is a mixture of dark roasted malt, tart raspberries, and a little bit of bourbon note on the end.

Taste is creamier than expected. Very sweet slight tart fruit mixed with the roasted malt taste of an imperial milk stout. Little vanilla off the bourbon.

Excellent beer.

11/04/2014 bottle poured into teku glass. Pours pitch black with generous tan head. Smell is raspberry syrup, malt, sugar, bread, cocoa, honey, slight oak. Very little bourbon on the nose. Taste is raspberry, oak, caramel, cocoa, and slight vanilla. Bourbon is slight here, but finish is nice in that it is slightly tart rather than sweet. Mouth is creamy, slightly rich, and medium carbonation.

After a year + in the cellar, this tastes like a raspberry chocolate torte in liquid form.
