Enjoy before July 2013.

A: Dark dark brown pour. Decent sized fizzy tan head but it fades pretty quickly. Zero lacing. Retention holds up though.

S: Rich toffee and caramel and burnt sugars from the bourbon. Not getting a whole lot more from it, the bourbon is quite dominant here.

T: Again with the burnt sugars. Lots of it. Caramel is more subdued here but still lingers nicely. Nice toffee hit in the finish. Very malty throughout and the bourbon complements it nicely. A bit of alcohol burn in the finish/aftertaste; pretty much pure bourbon for a brief moment.

M: Nice medium body, smooth.

O: A very nice scotch ale. Bourbon complements the maltiness of your typical wee heavy and amplifies it a bit. Sweet but not overly so. The bourbon seems to cut it a bit. Nice layers of flavors. A bit boozy for an 8% beer but I think it's from the bourbon's contribution.

Poured from the bottle into a goblet.

The beer pours a dark mahogany color with a layer of off white head that fades quickly to a ring around the pour. The smell is strong, sweet bourbon, sweeter than expected given the abv. The taste isn't as sweet as the smell would suggest. There are some dark fruit and vanilla notes from the barrel. Just a little alcohol heat as well. The carbonation could be smoother.
