Fricken hippies....Poured into an imperial nonic a rich clear honey tinged golden with a nice looking creamy one finger white head that never really completely settled.Aromas of light spiced rye and caramel malts, there is just a hint of honey funkiness. An absolute great feel to the beer it's creamy in nateure and glides down easy with low carbonation.Flavors are mild but pleasant enough, toffee and spicy rye flavors but not in your face, not much alcohol presence. Not bad from the peaceniks over in Boone and the brewers at OH.

Fresh 22 oz bottle, dated best by Nov. 2013, served in a snifter.

A rather vigorous pour only roused a small head, but it had decent retention and lacing nonetheless.

Aroma: mild, bready malts; lightly fruity with a touch of hops and a hint of honey. Rye is subtle here, especially compared to the flavor.

Taste: less sweet, more bitter and more hoppy than expected. Spicy rye is fairly prominent. Hard to differentiate the hops and the rye because they blend so well. Only mildly bitter but has the hop level of a typical pilsner. Nice sweet malts and hints of honey and caramel in the mix too.

Medium body; quite dry and moderately crisp. Should be a bit smoother.

O: a pleasant and somewhat distinctive brew that's less sweet than might be expected. Readily recommended to fans of rye beers.

22oz. Slightly darker golden pour, finger of white head retained well. Laces the glass just a bit.

Aroma, kind of sweet up front. Caramel and sweeter malt. Some spicy bread and earthy herbal like hops.

Taste, hops are mostly herbal, a little citrus. A grainy light bread maltyness. I'm guessing the honey really smoothed this out and it shows in the drinkability.

A creamy but lighter body. Under control abv and very drinkable.

Kind of a sweeter the pale ale, well executed and a very nice few.

A: pours a clear orange with a finger of white head that fades into a thin layer with a little lacing.

S: sweet honey, crystallized sugar, and citrusy hop notes up front before spicy rye and wheat bread aromas bring up the finish.

T: similar to the aroma, there is an interesting mix of honey, light citrus and pine hop flavors, spicy rye bread, and hearty wheat. The finish is lightly bitter.

M: medium body and carbonation, this beer is surprisingly drinkable for having so much honey used in it.

O: an enjoyable and interesting beer overall.

Brewed in collaboration with ACU's "Ivory Tower Brewery", a non-profit, educational brewing facility operating as part of the school's Department of Fermentation Sciences.

Clear solid gold under a big, lumpy white head of rocky foam. Spicy rye, cereal grain, mild grass, perfumy floral notes, and a hint of honey. Flavor is, again, spicy and raw rye malt, herbal and grassy hops, and some finishing toastiness. Not much honey coming through as the earthiness takes hold. Medium-light bodied, drying out in the finish. A pretty good, neat little one-off here.

Bottle. Pours a very clear amber color with a fairly thick off-white head on it. Nose definitely has the rye elements coming through, with just a faint hint at some sweetness from the honey. Taste is actually slightly bitter with the rye harshness coming through. Light on the palate and quite interesting.

A: Pours a clear golden amber in color with moderate to significant amounts of visible carbonation and orange + golden yellow highlights. The beer has a finger tall sudsy light beige head that quickly reduces to a large mottled patch of thin film and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of bready malts with caramel and honey sweetness along with some floral hops and just a touch of rye spiciness.

T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of bready and caramel malts with a light amount of honey sweetness. That is followed by moderate amounts of rye spiciness and hints of floral and spicy hops. Light amounts of bitterness in the finish which fades pretty quickly.

M: Medium bodied with slightly more than moderate amounts of carbonation. Creamy.

O: A pretty nice offering from the students at App State and Olde Hickory - I wish there was a little more of the rye spiciness to the smell of the beer but the alcohol is well hidden, it is easy to drink, and I enjoyed it.
