Appearance-Medium brown body with creamy tan head

Smell-very nutty with a hint of toffee

Taste-toffee and nuts prevail in the taste at first with a strong bitter hop aftertaste. The two tastes almost clash with one another.

Mouthfeel-the creamy malt feels smooth in the mouth

Drinkability- easy to drink at a slow or fast pace

Legacy- Brown Aled Girl

A- Deep reddish brown amber with a thick but tiny bubbled head.
S- Cocoa powder, brown sugar, and lightly tasted bread crust malts.
T- Light buttery sweet chocolate, toffee, and cream. Hints of brown sugar and bread crust.
M- Good buttert smooth malt with dry chocolate notes. Finishes off thick, sweet, and chewy.

Overall- Very tasty and easy to drink. A highly recommended 1 from legacy. 1 of my favorites from them.

This is one of my favorite styles of beer and Legacy has done a good job representing the style. Reddish brown with a soft, almost slippery mouth feel, there is a great deal of malt and sweetness.

On cask, there was only a small head, bu the warmth add a great deal to the flavor signature.

Altbier.

A: Pours a nice dark copper orange color with a cherry tan head.

S: There is some light roasted nuttiness for flavor, toffee, caramelized malt, and a light fruitiness on the nose.

T: The flavor is very smooth with a slick texture. There is a slight spiciness from the hops. Overall not a bad beer but just a moderate and average brown per style with a little sweetness, brown sugar notes. Nothing that really stands out or grabs your attention.

M: Mouthful is moderate per style, some creaminess and slides down nicely.

D: on the fence, drinkable though rather bland if having any more then one.

Pours a clean deep brown color with a tan head. Aromas of a dryer malt and small hints of chocolate. In the taste, malty and kind of sweet, and a nutty presence. A small bitter, yet mostly smooth mouthfeel, with a malty sticky sweet aftertaste. A nice sweet maltiness, mellow taste, and a nice hardiness to it. Not too shabby.

Had a growler of this awhile back before going out on St. Patty's appears a dark mahogany brown with ruby hightlights nicely formed tan head leaves even bands of lace around my pint. Aroma has an herbal flow with roasty chocolate malts earthiness with mellow sweet tones a very nice mix. Flavor nice alt definitely more not as traditional in style as some brings an herbal feel on to the palate with the mild hops subtle brown sugar and dark choclate sweetness with roasty moderate burnt character goes well together nice session ale. Mouthfeel is medium bodied carbonation comes off evenly very smooth textured goes down easily. Drinkability I think I chose this one due to Van Morrison being from the UK so it seemed to fit the bill for it's purpose session drinking on a drinking holiday.

Brown Aled Girl is actually an Alt beer according to the head brewer Mark at Legacy. I learned this in a conversation with him on 2/20/07 when I stopped in at the brewery. It used to be called Bixlers Alt when it was just brewed for that bar. It is in fact most similar to the Alaskan Amber Altbier than any others to compare it to. This beer was hand bottled in un-labeled bottles as samples batches at the brewery. It is not actually a bottled beer.

Appearance: ruby brown color with an off-white head. It has very large carbonation bubble and a small quick fade head.

Smell: Very reserved nose. Hints of bready malts and toffee.

Taste: The taste is much bigger than the nose suggests. Nice earthy Saaz hops under a malty creamy body of prickly active carbonation that is bubbly in the mouth. The hoppy dry finish lingers long after the swallow.

Drinkability: This is a refreshing easy drinking beer. I could easily session this one.

Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!

Fine, tan bubbles capped this clear, dark brown beer. Solid sheets of lacing showed off some awesome stickage on this one! The aroma was quite mild, mostly bready malt, a little nutty. Medium bitterness with some citrusy US hop flavour. Malt character consisted of cocoa, bread crust and light nuts. Medium/light body and carbonation, a little dry overall. A decent brown ale, balanced nicely. Easily drinkable over the course of an evening.

A: The ale is a deep brown color with a small head that does not retain well.

S: The ale has a robust, thick aroma of peanuts.

T: The ale has the restrained character of a nut brown ale with a smattering of hops. The first flavors to hit the tongue are nuts from the malt. That flavor finishes long before allowing a flourish of hops are the end of the sip.

M: The nuttiness is enticing and sweet on the palate.

D: A good change of pace from big beers, this is a session beer with a firm malt character and supporting hop background.
