I'm not quite sure how it was that we heard about Mickey's, but I found myself there on a fact finding night with Evil. It seems like 2 separate small rooms with a few cuts in the adjoining wall to make it one bigger place. One cut gives you access to the other room for the pool table, darts, video game, jukebox and just the other side of the bar. The other cut is from within the bar. Picture the leg of an "L" shaped bar passing through a wall into another room. It's a pretty damn unusual layout for a bar if you ask me.
All right. They've got 10 taps. My 2 visits there have found 3 Magic Hats (Humble Patience, Blind Faith and the 3rd one has been the "9" and the Jinx in rotation), 2 Sierras (Celebration & Pale Ale) and Beamish, Boddingtons, Hoeegarten, Stella & Warsteiner. The first time we were there, they had a cider on tap. Not your standard crappy cider mind you, but a local cider from the Warwick Valley Winery, in Orange County, NY which you never, ever, ever see. Very nice.
They had a dozen and a half bottles, mostly macros but a pair each of Chimays, Corsendonks and Chouffes, plus Aventinus and Duvel.
Yep, the rooms are blue. The bar is riddled with a handful of tables which they bunch up together when they have a band setup in the corner. Live entertainment or the jukebox is going.
My favorite thing here is the "Leave A Friend A Drink" board. Basically, you purchase someone a drink and fill in the "from", "to" and "what you've bought them" columns on the board and they can come and collect said drink(s) whenever. It's good stuff.
