A - frothy, 2-finger head quickly dissipates leaving minimal lacing. pale straw coloured , very transparent, much less cloudy than expected.

S - slight citrusy/lemon aroma. not very aromatic

T - not much coriander taste initially, comes through further down the glass. Didn't get so much of the spices as expected for the style. sensed the hops actually got in the way.

M - A little "puckery" - not in a pleasant way. But got smoother down the glass.

D - a little bitter (although the label says it's "lightly hopped", it had more bitterness and less wheat twang). Not a thirst quencher.

Rolled the last inch or so to get the sediment into the second glass poured from the bottle was much cloudier but still, not a lot of sediment.

Not all that remarkable. Label says it's a limited release, but I don't think i would go for this one again even if I had the option.

Cloudy, pale gold with a fluffy head that thins out very quickly. Typical wit nose with a slightly sour finish on it. The flavour is a bit too malty, and the orange peel seems a bit overdone. Light coriander spice, and a very mild bitterness on the finish.

Carbonation is good to start, but eases off as this warms. Not a bad beer, but certainly not GI's best effort.

Light hazy pale yellow with thin white head with no retention. Yeasty wheat aroma. Taste follows aroma with light herbal and slight orange zest notes. Thin with sharp carbonation ending in a semi-dry finish.

A very non-challenging beer that is not as dry as the style usually is. It's also not terribly complex as the orange and herb are not so much subtle as they are subdued. When present they are interesting but it's very difficult to search out.

Picked this up at the Granville Island Brewery in Vancouver. I probably won't be able to find it at home.

The aroma is light citrus and yeast with some nice floral aspects.

The flavour is very clearly malted wheat to start. It's very smooth as coats the mouth. Some light citrus notes come through as well.

Overall, this is a pretty average wit. I was hoping for something more exciting. the maltiness reminds me a bit more of a German weiss than a Belgian wit.

A: hazy straw, white head, thin ring of retention, nice lace.

S: Classic wit aroma of corriander, orange rind & tropical fruit.

T: Tropical fruit with some rind and a good spicing. Fairly malty & the American pale variety doesn't really work, leaving a bit of an American Wheat with spice feeling.

M: Moderate body seems more malty than wheaty.

D: Approachable, but not overly flavourful.

I find it more like Keiths or Rickards than most craft.

Picked up during a jaunt to the fine Granville Island brewpub. Always a highlight of our visits to Vancouver.

This Wit is clear enough that I can read the Sierra Nevada label on the opposite side of the glass, albeit it well magnified in yellow. Smells like a wet summer evening, with only a faint twang of wheat.

Classic wit. Easy on the buds, light on the alcohol, inoffensive. Sweet grass, wheat, touch of lemon with a gentle hand on the spices. Dry, tangy, & though I split this bomber with the wife, one could easily down a fair amount of Granville Wit.

Good beer. Nothing out of the ordinary, but as wit as a wit gets.

From notes... Another delicious bomber sent to me from my brother.

A - Pours a slightly hazy pale golden colour, finger of head with solid retention and no real lacing.

S - A tad mild, slightly grassy hops, hints of cloves and banana, bubble gum and a unique spiciness.

T - The bananas and cloves come through nicely alongside a solid wheaty backbone, a unique sour citrus bitterness with hints of earthy cedar and pine and the coriander really comes through on the finish. Very unique indeed.

M - Medium bodied, smooth and a touch of dryness on the finish.

O - Super tasty, though leaning more on the wit than it is the Belgian. The coriander really added a unique flavour that mingled well. Definitely a solid patio drink.

A - poured from a 650ml bottle into a tulip glass. It pours a cloudy pineapple yellow. The head dies down to a ring of foam around the edge.

S - sweet citric fruit and coriander

T - sweet orange and grapefruit with a spicy lime finish

M - consistent medium carbonation with a throat warming finish

D - refreshing

Well with the prolifigation of wheat beers in BC it does not surprise me that GI would produce a Wit. The beer resembles the Hefe a little but the lightness and the coriander shine though to assert this as its own beer. The more I drank of this beer the more nuances came through. This is a first class
Wit with a lot going on for a Summer beer.
