Island Lager is brewed to our original recipe, which combines all-natural ingredients to produce its distinct hop flavour. The same clean, refreshing taste that put us on the map in ’84 still makes this one a local favourite.

A - Granville Island lager is golden amber, sort of straw colored. Head is fluffy white with only not bad retention.

S - The aroma has an up front breadiness, bordering on grainy. Bready leads into a center with only a hint of malt. Nothing really builds here in the center. Hinted at malts move directly into a spicy, hop finish.

T - My first sip shows a pretty standard light bodied lager. The flavor starts out with subtle pilsner malts, mixed in with something bordering on bready and grainy. Centers offers more pilsner malts. Finish is dry and lingering.

O - I will say that Island Lager's malt flavors do make it stand out from other mainstream lagers a little bit. However, the malt doesn't really rise to the occasion in any way. It's just there, trying to keep from becoming outright grainy.

Clear light golden color. Minor head but excellent lacing.

Mild aroma. More grainy. Little hop.

Thin bodied with a minimum of hop bite. The carbonation level is expected…not too bubbly.

Island Lager from Granville Island Brewery

Look: Yellow, no head. Medium carbonation

Smell: Malt

Taste: malt and some sweetness, hop bitterness in the finish.

Feels: Like a budweiser from molson

Overall would I recommend it ? I will say yes and no. It is really up to up, give it a try maybe.

Serving Type: 341 mL Bottle

A- Pale Yellow with a thin, whispy, white head. No lacing.

S- Apples and bready malt.

T- Same as aroma.

M- Light body and Moderate to High Carbonation.

O- Like many other "Premium" Lagers that are brewed, this one has a sweet nose and taste and nothing much that really sets it apart from Macro Lagers.
