Style: Oatmeal Stout

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.50%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
The notion that Stout was full of goodness encouraged the practice of prescribing Stout for medical purposes and this in turn brought about the trend of “Food Stouts”. The addition of 10% oatmeal gives this ale a distinctive smooth and silky mouth feel, and yes, it’s not just for breakfast anymore.

Pours a pretty opaque black, some reddish highlights in the light, big creamy tan head forms, then leaves pretty quick with some nice lacing. Smell is roasty, with oatmeal and chocolate in the front, some vanilla and coffee following, quite pleasant. Taste is very chocolaty, with coffee, vanilla and roast, with a roasty bitter finish. Mouthfeel is smooth, medium to full bodied, low carbonation. Would have been much better off nitro tap.
