This is an interesting interpretation of the Alt. It clearly has the malty and fruitiness of an ale, but there is something clean about it. Maybe it is all that carbonation that, for me, detracts from the fruit. Hops seem to balance the sweet .
Roger Probst selected this Amber Alt as among the "300 More Beers To Try Before You Die." And you know what, you will be better off taking his advice.

Pours dark amber with a slight haze under a 2” cream colored head. There is bread and a little light fruit on the nose and palate. A little bit of the alt character. Medium carbonation, medium body.

Thin. Not a lot going on there.

Pours a copper red color with a thin creamy head. Smell is not overly active, but can smell the malts. Extremely smooth finish in which Carmel, malts, nuttiness and slight hop comes together very well. Nothing overbearing. Very drinkable. I could drink many of these.
