Deep black pour, one finger of light brown head. Retention and lacing are good for the style. Aroma is a nice combination of bourbon, oak, dark roast coffee. Notes of roast, caramel, and vanilla. On taste, again, a blend of bourbon, oak, chocolate, coffee. Slight vanilla and roast on the after taste. Medium-full body, moderate carbonation, slight bitter, dry finish. A good to very good bourbon barrel coffee stout.

12oz twist-top bottle poured into a snifter

A- pours jet black in color with a small fizzy khaki colored head that reduces quickly and eventually disappears completely, leaving nothing behind

S- aroma is a mix of dark chocolate and coffee with highlights of caramel, oats, licorice & a hint of vanilla. Subtle bourbon with some charred wood

T- fresh coffee mixes with dark chocolate malt up front, producing flavors of mocha fudge brownie, black licorice, and smoky malt. The barrel presence is subtle, but does show up near the finish, providing notes of oak, vanilla & caramel

M- medium-thin body with low carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel that continues into a slick finish, ABV is hidden well

O- high drinkability and doesn't sacrifice the flavor

A:Dark...black with minimal head
S:Coffee, roastiness....subtle bourbon
T:Coffee, roasted malt, some chocolate and bourbon. Very good.
M:Touch on the thin side. Wanted it to be a bit thicker due to it being an oatmeal porter.
O:This beer is very good. What a pleasant surprise. Wasn't expecting much since I had never heard of them but was very pleased with this.
