Pours a clear reddish amber under a ½ inch cream colored foam cap. It has more pumpkin than spice in the aroma. Very rich and malty and a little sweet with definite pumpkin flavors and faint spice. A dash of hops in the finish. Medium body and carbonation. This is decent because they did not use a heavy hand on the pumpkin spice.

poured into new Belgian Globe.

Appearance: brilliant and clear amber orange bodied beer. Beer is topped with 1 finger of white head. Drops quickly to a ring.

Smell: Sweet and spicy smelling of big cinnamon and nutmeg spice. A touch of pumpkin.

Taste: starts off with spicey cinnamon, nutmeg, all spice and a hint of clove. Pumpkin shows itself in the middle, but fades quickly. The beer finishes with big cinnamon notes and a lingering vetigal pumpkin aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation. The spiciness in this beer makes it feel heavier than the beer really is.

Overall: A solid pumpkin beer tyranena! Its good, but Shafly is the best that i have tried so far!

(Served in a straight sided mug)
A- This beer has a clear reddish-brown body with a thin tan creamy head that last a bit and a sea of strong carbonation.
S- This beer has a soft dry caramel malt note with a softer dry spice note.
T- The soft sweetness mixes with a soft spice heat that has a slight banana quality. It finishes with a light bitterness from hops that grows just a bit as the beer open ups.
M- This beer has a light mouthfeel with a soft fizz.
D- This beer has a soft malt and spice flavor that is a bit odd together but to subtle to really taste.

Pours a dark orange, amber hue with a resiny looking consistancy. Nice, off-white head that recedes to a ring of foam a few minutes after the pour. The aroma is of light brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin of course, and just toasted malts. Pretty good. The taste starts sort of fall fruity and warm. The middle lets loose the spices and pumkin flavors full force. While the finish leaves your palate with an oily yet smooth and warm pumpkin palate. Vey nice pumpkin ale from a very worth while brewery.

A-Deep orange (orange leaning on brown)

S-A lot of spicing in this as the name suggests...on the nose I get nutmeg, cinnamon, and all spice. This is really top notch. Not artificial, just heavily spiced.

T-Even more spiced up on the taste...all spice, and cinnamon are very noticable and nutmeg to a lesser extent. Not a lot of true pumpkin flavor but I like the base beer they used for this...caramel like...sweet....this is a sweet, heavily spiced ale.

M-They did the body right on this. And to be honest that is what makes this a good beer. If this was thin, and weak the spicing would be terribly out of place and unenjoyable. But instead this is medium to full bodied with a nice weightiness.

D-Very nice Pumpkin spice ale. So many of these pumpkin beers are artificial and thin....this is spiced abundantly but has the necessary malt, and body to make this special. This is a sipper type, one or two at a time type beer to me but very good.

This is one of the better pumpkin Spice beers I've had. From a properly chilled bottle and and aggressive pour, I got a small, off white head that quickly settled to a ring and no lace. Color is a lovely, clear orange copper amber with a few tiny bubble trails. Aroma is pumpkin, spice, malt, caramel, toffee. Flavor is much like nose with perfect carbonic tang and hop bitterness to offset the muscle of the pumpkin, spice, and malt. Body and carbonation are good. Finsih is like flavor and only the hint of a suggestion of alcohol at the end. Nice. I could actually have another of this one and normally, I can't abide the style.

Pours very thick and quite dark, for the style. The color of minced meat with a decent-sized white head.

This is a pumpkin spice ale, with the emphasis on the spice. Its smells VERY thick and clovey. The thickness is a akin to opening up a jar of pumpkin pie spice, holding it right up to your nose, and then taking a big snort. It's a nice smell, really, but the intensity is a bit much to bear and blots all the rest of the beeriness.

Tastes pretty much like it smells: a whole lot of pumpkin pie spice, not that much actual pumpkin. Big cloves, white pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg against a malt background of toffee and biscuit. Intense and not unpleasant, but not as balanced or quaffable as a top-tier pumpkin beer.

Coppery body with a light tan head that produces some decent lace.

Great scents of sweet pumpkin, pie crust, brown sugar and lots of pumpkin pie spice.

The taste matches the nose well. Very tasty. Like pumpkin pie with a slightly larger spice presence. Getting some pie crust notes as well.

Medium bodied and very smooth.

I would put this in my top two or three pumpkin beers. This one is done very well and is really little known to the masses. Seek this one out!

A-Clear amber, not much carbonation, one finger head.

S-Very spice heavy, lots of cinnamon, tad bit of pumpkin but not much,

T-Like the nose, spice heavy. Some pumpkin in the finish. Not much else, no bitterness.

M-Light, not much carbonation, tad watery as well.

O-Another run of the mill pumpkin beer, that being said run of the mill means really good to me because of the style.

12 oz bottle poured into a Nonic.
7.5% ABV, Bottled on 14SEP12

A - A tall but quiet pour releases a plump off-white head which drops slowly while caking the nonic in sheets of lace. Fully clear, Painted Ladies is a very beautiful deep orange amber in color.

S - A delectable cream and vanilla caramel sweetness wafts out gloriously with an incredibly balanced spice background. Cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice all but masks the muted fresh pumpkin that lingers near the background. Lightly toasted malts hold the pie-like aroma together like a flaky crust with thick bread nuances.

T - The flavor is just as complex as the aroma if not more so, though it's more nuanced and starts with that same sweetness the aroma starts with - cream and vanilla with the toasted caramel malts adding their two bits. The spices are delicate as opposed to in-your-face and the roasted pumpkin lingers on the back of the tongue with balance.

M - Smooth and borderline creamy, Painted Ladies is a medium bodied ale that's full flavored and well balanced. The spices play quietly on the palate as the dry, earthy and soft-spoken hop finish kicks in and drops away with a light carbonation tingle.

O - Tyranena manages to craft a wonderful pumpkin ale that fits the fall bill almost perfectly, replicating a creamy pumpkin pie without overdoing the spice or pumpkin characteristics. Smooth and drinkable, this is a terrific fall treat.

This beer pours a cloudy amber-brown color. The head is pretty much nonexistent. The aroma is a nice mix of all spice, nutmeg, cinnamon. However, it lacks any sort of beery backbone. The taste similar to the aroma, but with a hint of caramel malt. The hint of malt is quickly overpowered by the spices, and completely disappears in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation, and a velvety texture. Overall, this is a decent beer, but I can't see myself drinking it again.

12oz bottle poured into a goblet, bottles 8/12/15

A- pours a clear amber color with a small creamy white head that reduces to a thick ring around the edge that retains long after the pour

S- balance of typical pumpkin spicing with some toasted malt undertones, also picking up a hint of vanilla cream

T- slightly sweet toasted malt base gives way to a balance of cinnamon and nutmeg with hints of brown sugar. Toasted finish

M- medium body and moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a creamy smooth finish

O- high drinkability and good balance among the spices
