This locally brewed Oktoberfest fest pours a crystal clear light copper in my pint glass. There is a thin white head that quickly diminished barely leaving a trace behind. The aroma of this beer is moderate-high maltiness, sweet maltiness mainly shows, Crystal like and only pick up a hint of toasted grains. There is little to no hop aroma. The beer has a moderate-high malt flavor. There is a balance of malt sweetness and toasted malt, neither is overpowering. The hop bitterness to me is apparently moderate-low, perhaps slightly more bitter than other Oktoberfests and there is a low hop flavor detected. The beer has good drinkability, it has an incredibly smooth mouthfeel and swallow, surprisingly the body of the beer was a bit thinner than most Oktoberfests; in the moderate range, but that certainly does not compromise the beer. Overall I enjoyed this Oktoberfest very much. I really enjoyed the apparent bitterness being slightly higher than most Oktoberfests and didn’t mind this slightly thinner body, in fact I could sit down with many of these Oktoberfests, likely quite a few more than some of the other fuller bodied counter parts.

12 oz bottle poured into a willi becher glass. Looks fine - caramel color with nice lacing and retention - but kind of weak on the bready/toasty/caramel malt flavors with a soapy/stale note. Not a beer I'd buy again.

This has become my personal favorite octoberfest beer. It’s very drinkable for how rich the flavor is. Smells, tastes and looks great.

This 120z. bottle poured a nice looking hazy amber with two fingers of off white foam. The head lasted quite long leaving a little lacing behind. I would say the carbonation is a touch above medium. Looks very nice.
This beer has a nice malty aroma, true to the style.
The taste follows the nose, bread flavored malts, slightly sweet, with just enough hops to give it the very slight bitter touch to the finish.
The feel is medium to creamy.
This is a good Marzen, looks good, nice flavor, an easy drinker.

Tasted in a pint glass from draft at the Vine on October 6, 2017. Perhaps this Marzen is underrated here. I was unable to detect any of the metallic or astringency mentioned by others. Another good beer from Tyranena.

From a single into a willibecher, I was really rooting for this one because it has a lot of nice dimensions...some nice nutty and floral notes and some estery notes, too, all of which complement substantial bready and carmel maltiness...fairly sweet but not cloying. For the style, middle of the road in terms of body. That's all pretty good...but then there's a little almost metallic or tinny edge that doesn't fit at all and has an outsized effect on the taste, the feel, and my overall enjoyment.

2023:
Draft at Great Taste, it’s far better than the 2015 sample.

More Oktoberfest please... Sadly this stuff dries up way too fast.
Got a single of this recently in WI. Getmuetlichkeit is a concept I'm all too familiar with...

Pours a dark saturated orange, lasting foam, exceptional drippy lacing around the edges, looks like your average black metal band logo. Veil of skim across the surface.

Nutty, fruity yeast aroma, reminds me of a Trappist dubbel or triple somehow. Caramelized sugars.

Taste has an astringency, though mirrors the smell pretty well. Nutty with sweet dried fruit yeast esters. Overly sweet to a degree, though tolerable. Astringent mouthfeel is a dealbreaker,an Oktoberfest should never have rough edges. One and done, won't be getting this again.
