Part of the mixed IPA 12 pack, the beer is poured from a brown longneck into an imperial pint glass. The beer is a light gold with a fluffy white head.

I like the almost tropical fruit smell that goes with pine a grains.

The beer's taste leads with some slightly sweet grains and something that tastes a bit like toasted coconut. The bitterness is not overly pronounced and tends to linger in the background. There is a hint of lemon rind.

The mouth is yeoman like and the beer has a touch of mouth coating slickness.

I think this is my least favorite of the four beers in the mixed 12 pack, but it still a serviceable beer that takes a slightly different track.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle.

A: Pours a crystal clear light golden color with lots of lively bubbly carbonation. Head is an inch and a half of foamy white color that retains quite well, and leaves behind a little lacing.

S: Aromas of citrus especially lemon, and orange. Then you find aromas of cracker like malts, sweet tea, some earthiness, and some pine/grass aromas from the hops.

T: Flavors of sweet grains, green tea, and lemongrass initially. Then you get some cracker like malts, earthy grass notes, pine like hop flavors, grapefruit, and coconut. Finishes with a nice bitter hop flavor/spiciness that leaves a pleasant citrus aftertaste.

M: Light bodied, highly carbonated, very crisp and smooth. Very light and easy drinking, very refreshing and perfect for a warm day.

O: A very solid take on a White IPA. I am usually very critical on the style and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this brew. The Sorachi Ace hops really shine through in this beer in a pleasant way. I was impressed by the aromas and flavors of this beer. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a outside the box choice for a great crisp easy drinking brew.

maybe people dont love sorachi ace hops as much as i do, but this is awesome beer if you like them. finally a white ipa that simply means its wheat based, not belgian and loaded with orange and coriander but just hopped up. the wheat base is rich and creamy, and the hops are amazing. there is a real lemon oil presence in the nose, hints of vanilla and breakfast bread, tempting and delicious. the flavor is as true to the hop as can be. i love sorachi ace so much, surprised really that its not a more regular part of the american ipa lexicon, nobody uses it. with the wheat here its amazing, buttery soft and creamy in feel, with a pillowy and expansive softness, but a cutting citrus flavor rounded out by a mild sweetness that would be out of place in any other beer but this one. i havent had a lot of beer from these guys, but this was easily my favorite ipa in their ipa mixed box (a great idea by the way). we need more of these hoppy wheats that arent trying to be some weird reincarnation of a wit. yummy and drinkable beyond belief. i could have had ten of these. a great expression of my favorite hop!

I got a White IPA from a Stevens Point Mix Pack I bought at Meijer. The Sorachi Ace hops are very interesting. This is probably the second beer that I have had that has this hop. It poured a clear yellow with thin almost non-existent head that is not lacing. The scent is floral is nature. The taste has a hint of grapefruit and a potpourri like spice. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its interesting and worth a try. I liked the Spruce Tip and One Shot better than this one.

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear light gold color with a small white head. The aroma has a strong fruit aroma with some piney hops. The taste is big on grain with some fruit tossed in. An average IPA.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of lemons, wheat. Taste is lemons, soap, hay, some herbal notes, dry at the finish. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall, not horrible, but one I won't need to drink again.

3/9/15 (Bottle) - Light golden pour, with medium carbonation and pillowy white medium head. Nice grass based hops aroma with a noticible blend or orange, lemon. Beer is very light in texture, the hops definitely shine through, and the carbonation provides a decent kick going down. Light ABV and it doesn't feel strong going down. A nice beer when you want something light and crisp, with decent flavor.

12 oz twist-off bottle poured into a Bruery tulip.
5.5% ABV, 40 IBUs, 0794 on neck.

A - Bright golden straw in color, this white IPA is almost perfectly clear with a tall and lasting pile of cloud white foam

S - Hints of pine needle pull through the freshly cut lawn hoppy nose that Point's White IPA releases but the earthiness that's got a nice and fresh appeal to it is cut by white table sugar sweetness and and a faint citrusy zest before finishing out with cereal grains.

T - Crisp pale malt avoids any sweetness getting in the way of the hop profile; one that I'm not quite fond of. Wet grass and straw blend with lemon oil citrus and linger on the tongue through the finish.

M - Despite my overall distaste for the flavor, the mouthfeel is really nice. Point's White IPA has a crisp and clean body that's prickly on the tongue from carbonation and not quite smooth due to the lack of wheat (as it's called a White IPA) but finishes strong with gripping bitterness and a dry spell on the tongue.

O - There are very few times I find myself disagreeing with a particular ingredient but in the case of Point's White IPA, I can't get behind the use of Sorachi Ace hops; clearly I just don't like them. The combination of weird, musty earthiness and slight hints of citrus doesn't do it for me but, that's certainly not to say this beer isn't made well. Additionally, I'm a little confused as to why this is called a White IPA. There's no use of wheat, or stand-out spices for that matter, it appears to be filtered as it's clear, and there's certainly no use of Belgian yeast. Definitely not undrinkable, but in the growing realm of White IPAs, this one's a miss in my book.

poured 12oz bottle into snifter. Bottled on March 20.

A - Golden straw, clear with a 2 finger white head. Very good retention that falls to a collar and leaves behind massive lacing.

S - The hops provide aromas of lemon grass, lemon zest, bitter citrus, and some herbal and earthy notes. The malts are very light and cracker like.

T - Bitterness up front with lemon grass, lemon zest, some herbal and earthiness, also pick up a bit of grapefruit pith. Malts are very light and cracker like. Finish is quite bitter on my palate.

M - Light, crisp, well carbonated and refreshing.

O - One of the few "White IPAs" I have enjoyed. Point should consider canning this and offer it as a summer time beer.
