Just OK, with a lemon taste that doesn't quite sit right with me.

*Light ale artfully blended with fruit juice and sold in an affordable, prepackaged container.*
BA: This is disgusting, an affront to brewing, only a child or some kind of damn dirty woman would drink that.

*Light ale oversaturated with some experimental hop variety that makes it tastes like dirt and strawberries and cost 6 bucks for a tall boy*
BA: This is the greatest product ever produced by mankind.

Radlers and shandies are good. Or, they can be good. A badly mixed prepackaged radler is horrific. A great one is great. Maybe not as artfully brewed as a fine pale ale, but in today's fruit-forward world of brewing, "artful" has come to mean something that I do not understand.

Point's Coast Radler is a good, but not great, example of the style. It's crisp up front, moving into a citrusy middle that's just fruity enough to carry the beer but not cloying in any way, and then it ends nice and dry.

This radler honestly needs two separate reviews - the reason COULD be age (undated bottle from what's a pretty busy grocery store, so, probably not, but...)
I opened the bottle, took a sip before pouring it into a nucleated glass, and... I thought it would be my first ever drain pour. A noxious, musty, spoiled cardboard taste overwhelmed me. I tried a sip after pouring, and the head tasted the same.... So, it was just a spoiled beer, right?
Well... I tasted an undercurrent of sprite, so, I decided to let it decarbonate for a bit... I returned, and, it was deliciously refreshing! Like a malt Sprite. I'm not sure what to think.

Sampling right now on 8/12/15. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured in to a vintage "Michelob Ales & Lagers" weissber vase glass.

This 'Beer with Lemon-Lime & Grapefruit Flavors' pours a straw-yellow in color with about a 1-finger white fizzy head that doesn't last too long. Settles down to a thin layer on top and sides. Really no lacing is seen. Aroma is of citrus zest and grains for the most part. Pretty much is said for the taste with the grapefruit coming out first followed by the lemon-lime flavor. Not overpowering at all but a perfect mix. Not as sweet as you might think either. Very smooth and refreshing and goes down easy for a hot summer day. Really enjoy the Radler brews this time of year. Lighter to medium-bodied with perfect carbonation. A tasty brew!

I picked up a bottle of Stevens Point's Coast Radler last week for $1.79 at Boyne Country Provisions. It's pretty warm today and I'm in the mood for a Radler, so lets see how it goes. No visible bottling date. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a imperial pint glass.

A- The label looks ok, it's got a nice design to it, but it isn't too eye catching. It poured a clear pale yellow color that took on more of a golden color when held to the light and it had three fingers worth of creamy white head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and it left some spotty lacing behind. This is a good looking Radler, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a lower amount of high sweetness with the grapefruit being the first to show up and it imparts a pretty natural grapefruit aroma, but there is just a slight artificial aspect to it. Up next comes a sweet grain aroma, but other than that nothing else comes through. This beer has an Ok aroma, but I wish there was some balance.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with a higher amount of sweetness with the grapefruit still being the first to show up and it imparts the same aspects while dominating the taste of teh beer. Up nest comes those sweet malts that I got in the aroma and they impart a sweet and grainy flavors with the grainy aspects showing up in the finish and it had no bitterness with sweetness taking it's place. This wasn't a great tasting beer, it was too sweet and unbalanced.

M- Smooth, a little refreshing, pretty sticky, on the light side of being medium bodied with a higher amount of medium carbonation. The mouthfeel was ok, but it was too sticky for the style.

Overall I wasn't a big fan of this beer and I thought it was average at best for the style, it just didn't come together as well as I had hoped. This beer didn't have good drinkability, one is more than enough for me. What I like the most about this beer was the appearance, it was a good looking beer. What I like the least about this bee is the sweetness and balance, they both need some major work. I wouldn't buy this beer again and I wouldn't recommend it. All in all this beer wasn't that great and it was pretty rough around the edges for the style. IT's my new least favorite beer from Point and it's one of my least favorite Radlers. This beer just wasn't for me, better luck next time guys.
