Pours a frothy, white head. Sweet aroma with floral hops. Starts with huge boozey sweetness; malt, malt, and floral hop bitterness. The floral hops linger with the booze into the finish.

This is pretty decent. It's more like a Doppelmaibock than a Maibock, and so my expectations were set differently. Overall, I like it.

Bright golden orange, slow rising carb trails visible, 4-5 fingers of head in the glass.
Tons of lace, pillowy head with long lasting surface retention.

Aroma is ok, subdued with a prominent note of sweet milled grain and light yeast.

Creamy smooth texture, full bodied and malty. Very light bitterness in the aftertaste.
Specialty grains dominate, nutty and cerealish. Alcohol is present but isn't distracting.
Overall this is a nice Maibock and worth a try.

Aroma: The beer has a definite spicy hop aroma along with the malty undertones. Alcohol is also present and perhaps just a bit much for a Maibock / Helles Bock

Appearance: Very clear and deep gold - spot on.

Taste: The beer has a bit of sweetness upfront mixed with a fairly significant bitterness. I like that the two keep each other from overpowering, but each could be dialed down a little. The maltiness from grains like Munich or perhaps Vienna malts comes in the aftertaste.

Feel: The mouthfeel is a little full and bitter for a Maibock - likely due to the high alcohol content as this is on the bigger side of the style.

Overall: I would purchase this again - I appreciate the clean lager characteristics and how it all works together. If it was a competition style Maibock, perhaps dialing down in alcohol and bitterness, while leaving the grainy goodness the same would make it fit just a little better. Good beer.

poured 12oz bottle into pint glass.

A - A light golden amber hue with a 2 finger white head that maintains retention for a long time. Fades into a cap and leaves thick swaths of lacing on the glass.

S - Aromas of soft bready and toasted malt character mingle with a light fruit characteristic reminiscent of pear.

T - Flavors of sweet bread, toasted grain, and cereal with a hint of caramel goodness. It blends well with a slight fruity flavor of ripe pear.

M - Medium body with soft carbonation, Finish is sweet with a touch of dryness.

O - This is a very nice Maibock and I'm not a huge fan of this style. I'm impressed with this beer.
