This highly-touted milk stout, was a bit underwhelming to me. I can't exactly place my finger on the reason either.

The beer poured an inky black but proved to be a dark brown when held to the light, with very little head forming unless I made a hard pour...disappointing.

The aroma is sweet, chocolately, with slight roast barley notes...the best and most complex characteristic of this beer.

The taste was again on the sweet side, with nice deep chocholate flavors followed by a slightly burnt finish. Nice but not superior.

The stout was very drinkable, but in my opinion it is lacking something. Perhaps it is much better on tap.....

This beer is almost black. Nice creamy beige head with some retention. Lacework is intricate. Aroma is of powdered cocoa, coffee bean and chocolate. The powdered cocoa flavor is on the tongue as well. Also some lactose sugar notes, bittersweet chocolate and some roast malt. Mouthfeel is velvety smooth and plush. Body's decent. Around medium. This is a nice brew, but not outstanding as the other 3 that I have tried from this brewery were.

Gotta give cokes some credit for nailing this one down for me. Beer from this brewery is very hard to come by....even in Madison.

A very dark, opaque mahogany brown. bordering on black. Adequate lacy, sandy tan foam.
Nose full of roastedness, and chocolates: milk and bakers. A big earthy component rests within the nostrils as well.
Taste begins with some medium-roast coffee that is immediately coupled with the dark and milk chocolate hues. The midsection sees earthen woodiness paired with the lacto sweetness. Rides out with lingering roastedness lathered in buttercreme.
Somewhat powdery mouthfeel, and could be thicker all around, but still nice and slippery within the mouth. Ridiculously easy to consume. A Session stout if there ever was one.
This has reappeared after a year and a half absence. It used to be a favorite. I am not sure if it has fallen somewhat, or I have moved on. While no longer LL's best, its certainly welcomed back.
