Big thanks to the Joe for this dabble. Cheers Pal!

Deep chestnut brown body, with burnt orange and crimson highlights. A fast forming off white volcano of foam settles surprisingly smoothly, leaving a creamy looking frith that coats the glass quite well.

The aroma is quite simple and delicious smelling. Caramelized brown sugar and a doughy sweet bread makes me think of figgy pudding. But then a nice, sharp herbal note compliments and keeps things in line.

Despite the obvious caramel/ burnt sugar, this guy is boasting toasted nuttiness. The finish is once again intense with herbal and slightly grassy bitterness. Right at the heart and in the middle of this gem lies a rounding out brown soda bread, perfectly appropriate for the style.

Getting the obvious out of the way, this is sweet and toasty. It's a bit thin and rather highly carbonated, and as mentioned above, ends relatively bitter. The high carbonation and ending dryness are a bit off to me, but in no way off-putting. Has a slightly dirty feel to it too, but the elevated abv is almost entirely hidden.

Damn good Wee Heavy. The feel is the only thing I could perhaps knock on it, but what a silly thing to care for. This hits where it counts: aroma and flavor, and this thing is full of both.

I must state scotch ales are my fav style of beer. This is my favorite scotch ale and I’ve tried many. The beauty of this ale is that it is brewed less than 60 miles from my home. Nice.
I have to remind myself to let this baby warm a bit to fully appreciate. Easier said than done.
Pours a rich deep, deep copper hue. Nice, small head disappears quickly. Great lacing, sticking tightly.
Smell is similar to color. Slight alcohol scent, caramel, a bit of peet. If there is a weakness in this beer it would be the smell. I can live with that.
Taste and feel are the highlights. More rich taste, light carbonation, smooth mid taste with an almost dry, clean, non sticky finish. Delicious.
I have reviewed my favorite seasonal beer. 12 oz. bottle review. My goal is to score a growler this season. Obviously, see it, buy it, enjoy it. Drink on.
