I love this beer. I love my American IPAs to be hard, hoppy, and very bitter. This does not disappoint. A beautiful golden brown, smells of rich hops, and tastes as bitter as one could hope for. Not for the faint of heart, the aftertaste might too bitter for most. It's my favorite draft at the local sports bar. Would highly recommend to all strong IPA enthusiasts.

poured into a tulip glass from a 355mL bottle.
bottle date: 5/30/14
pour date: 8/18/14

APPEARANCE: caramel yellow with a mild haze to it with small amount of yeast percepitant. 1/2" foamy head with blocky retention.

SMELL: freshly mowed alfalfa and overly-ripened cantaloupe

TASTE: a quick sprite of citrus, then a mellow grainy gulp, with a bitter aftertaste. bitterness hangs around a while- could be due to the old bottle date.

FEEL: surprisingly thin for 7% ABV. Drank quickly.

BURP: pleasant.

a solid 90, especially for the price.

Appearance - Pours a somewhat hazy golden orange with a finger's worth of off-white head. Fair retention, resulting in a broken layer of surface suds. Leaves a fair amount of lacing around the glass with good stick.

Smell - Citrus notes with a bready undertone.

Taste - Follows the nose. Strong citrus flavor and a soft, slightly toasted bready malt backbone. Long lingering grapefruit pith bitterness in the aftertaste. Simple, but enjoyable.

Mouthfeel - Medium to full in body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, semi-dry finish.

Overall - A pretty good IPA by Widmer. Nothing mind blowing in originality, but points for execution. I wouldn't seek it out exclusively, but wouldn't be opposed to giving it another go.

A: Orange. Slightly hazy. Medium foamy head. Medium, persistent lacing.
S: Citrus. Pear.
T: Pine. Hop-forward. All about hops. Alcohol is hidden by hops.
M: Medium carbonation with an uncommon spritz at the end. Typical body (medium).
O: This is a good hoppy IPA.

Pours a cloudy golden color with silky foam head. Smell is very light hops. Feel is medium to light body. Taste is the best of the categories. Very well balanced on hops and malt and I don’t think this is bitter. Citrus and pine followed by a malt backbone. I know this is unfiltered and it’s a pretty decent balanced IPA offering.

Grass, lemons, kinda slick, lime-like aftertaste.

Wouldn't like this as an amateur IPA friend, but love it as an aficionado.

Great lacing and good ice cold also.

Would recommend to hop heads and people who enjoy a citrus based cocktail.

This lizard in my office keeps trying to snuggle. Weird.
