This is one of my favorite summer beers this year....I see it as kind of a Kolsch hopped with Citra....the Citra hops really shine through with all their citrus goodness but the body and malt give this a crisp, Kolsch like feel. Lower weight and lower ABV but loaded with flavor....that makes this a top notch refreshing summertime drinker. Now I need to find it in bottles...

12oz brown bottle, freshness date on label
LOOK: Sturdy head, good showing of lace, perfect gold clarity
SMELL: Guava, orange peel, nutmeg, light biscuity grain
TASTE: Lush smoothness , lighter bodied, citric, exotic fruit, effervescent, kiss of bitterness, lightly grainy, dry finish, clean
Good balance between the hops, malt and fruitiness. Good twist on the lighter summer seasonal flavor here, very drinkable ... super sessionable with enough flavor to keep it interesting.

Poured into a tulip glass
Bottle date: May 21, 2014
Pour date: August 18, 2014
APPEARANCE: haystack yellow with a mild haziness. Poured a nice 1" white lacy head, which quickly reduced to a lamina of froth, leaving pleasant lacing on the walls of the glass.
SMELL: Not much to it. Reminds me of lemongrass and mildew.
side note: I didn't even read its ABV until after the review. even more impressed with its flavour.
TASTE: This beer shouts eucalyptus! The combination of the citrusy hops and the dankness of the yeast makes this beer taste like West Coast arboretum. Aftertaste rests on the back of the tongue and feels a bit sour - almost like eating plain Greek yogurt.
FEEL: bubbly and light-bodied.
BURP: bountiful and pleasant, not foamy.
OVERALL: I will return to this beer.I was caught off-guard by its balance and flavour.

This beer came in a bottle and was poured out into a pint glass. It had a light amber colour to it and smelled of citrus hops and grapefruit. In line to the way this beer smelled, it also had a grapefruit presence in its flavour, along with flavours of wheat and hops. Seemed light bodied; it would be a great summer beer.
Would I buy this beer again? Maybe.

Golden yellow straw colored ale. Fantastic clarity. Moderate head retention. Great carbonation bubbles. Eggshell white foam. Great citra hop nose . A bit of lemon on the nose, but mainly those lovely citra hops are very inviting. Very light, smooth mouthfeel is extremely refreshing. This is AA very refreshing summer ale but I would have enjoyed abut more go flavor. Of course it would have then been an IPA.

Poured into DFH signature glass; clear bright yellow-orange with lots of bubbles and a moderate fizzy white head that falls quickly into a ring of foam with lively carbonation peeking through.
Smells lightly of dank herbal hops, with lesser notes of tropical fruit and citrus, as well as some grassy scents and light, slightly metallic clear malt.
Taste is wide-open and clean; extremely light clear malt gives way to...nothing. This is probably an old bottle, but there's just no hop flavor here. There's a slightly leafy crispness, and perhaps the ancient ghost of what may have been some sort of fruit at one point, but that's it.
Mouthfeel is thin and fizzy, finishes crisp.
Overall, this is probably a lot better fresh. Citra doesn't seem to hold up very well under too many months on the shelf, but if you could find this fresh, it'd probably be one hell of a tasty session beer.

Looks like a blonde ale, even has nice head and -lacing to it. Just a great aroma out of this one, definite citra hops, I thought this smelled as good or better than citra dipa from Kern!
Nice light bodied beer, lightly hopped, but refreshing, slick finish, just a nice clean beer. Nothing is heavy (other than the aroma), hopped just right for the minimal heft of the beer. One of my favorite beers of 2011, and easily in the top 3 session beers of the year. You get a mild citrus flavor that is totally complimented by the very lightly toasted malt presence that is kept minimal and in harmony with everything else.
Keep this coming all summer long! A little citra (hop) goes a long way.

12oz bottle dated 16 April 2011.
Pours a hazy yellow gold with a short but near creamy head that has good retention.
Aroma: highly citrus with hints of malt.
T - follows nose although the strong hop aroma is accompanied by plenty of hop/citrus flavor but little bitterness. Nicely tart. IBU = 20.
M - medium-light body; dry finish; excellent carbonation.
O - excellent summer seasonal. Neither rich nor complex, but very tasty, aromatic and refreshing. Citra hops dominate but Alchemy hops are also used.
(Lightly editted with May 2013 bottle consumed June 2013; and again in July 2014).
