Bottled 12/19/12.

12oz bottle served cold into a chalice.

O'Ryely is a beautiful amber red color with perfect clarity. The head is thick and slow to settle leaving great lacing behind.

Aroma is hoppy with some good citrus and plenty of big pine.

Flavor is spicy like a good rye beer should be but also has a night of hop bitterness. There even seems to be an underlying smoke quality to it which works well with the spicy black pepper character.

Mouthfeel is medium-light in body and well carbonated. It's fairly well balanced but leans towards the bitter.

Overall a solid rye IPA. Not as good as my current favorite from Renegade but still good.

Poured a nice two fingers of head, good lacing; clear, copper colored body.
The aroma is mostly grapefruit with a touch of spice and lemon.
The taste is medium bitterness: moving from grapefruit to lemon with a little sweet note at the end. Smooth and flowing flavors.
A softer textured IPA with moderate carbonation and medium body.
A great IPA with more flavor and aroma than most.

Poured into 9oz pilsener glass. Poured a lightly hazy light amber color with over a half-inch of just off-white head that dissipated quickly at first, but then then held onto the last 1/8 inch for a surprisingly long time before settling into a ring that left good lacing.

All the expected IPA aspects were present, but in a very soft and subdued form. Even the crisp Rye was very low-key. The flavors were the same, about what I expected, just in a toned down form. The most notable feature was the Rye bite at the back of the tongue, but even that was just a nibble from a puppy.

The body was that of an average IPA, on the light side of medium, clean, and relatively smooth. Drinkability was OK, but the lack of outstanding flavors means you could better spend your calorie and alcohol budget on other beers. Overall, a decent, but not notable, brew. Worth a shot if you can buy a single before investing in a sixer.

12 oz brown longneck with clear freshness dating. Poured in to my SA perfect pint, the beer is dark bronze with a thick beige head. It has decent lacing.

Nice aroma of pine, some spice from the rye and caramel malts.

The taste is a nice combination of resin, rye, caramel and toasted malts. The flavors are balanced and well integrated. I like rye beers and this one hits the mark for me.

The mouth has some heft, but I would like to see the carbonation turned down 1/2 a notch.

Easy drinking beer, maybe at 6.4% a touch to much to session but I sure enjoy them.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a amberish color with a small white head. Smells of dark rye and floral hops. Tastes very bitter, but with a nice darker malt taste. Goes down nicely with a great finish for a light/medium bodied beer. Overall, a very good beer.

Poured from a bit above the glass give this beer a big off white to light tan head above a clear honey amber colored beer that settles into a bisquity small mound in the middle of the glass with an average sized lacing lining the edges of the glass.

A light mixed aroma of toasted caramel malts, sour fruits, grains, light hops, and maybe even a little sugar added.

A dry rye grain taste is blended well with a slight bitterness from the hops and the citrus notes from those. The citrus hops and the rye taste seem to be tied together my a slight caramel malt taste.

Quite dry is the aftertaste with some of the rye taste staying around for more scrutiny.

A beer I think I could drink a few of, would lie to try this with quite of few different kinds of food. Umm, Mahi Mahi and O'ryely IPA?

12oz Bottle from Total Wine Las vegas NV for 1.69

Appearance - Clear copper colour with an average size frothy light beige coloured head. There is an average amount of carbonation and there is some fairly good lacing. The head lasted for around 5 minutes.

Smell - Malts, caramel, hops, grapefruit, apricots

Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and I can taste hops, malts, and caramel. There is also a bit grapefruit, apricot, and pineapple. It ends with a malty sweet aftertaste and some mild hop bitterness.

Overall - Pretty good stuff that I would like to try fresh or on tap. On of the better Widmer beers I've had. Worth a try if you like west coast tasting IPA's.
