A: Pours warm copper with a tall compact and lovely beige head that sinks into nice lacings.

S: Rich sweet slighlty roasted malts, some caramelly notes. Dark dried fruits and rich molasses. Some nice yeast as well. A metallic smell lures in the back.

T: The sweet malt is rich and full - almost like in a really nice Doppelbock. Dark dried fruits and herbal notes. Yeast. Metallic and buttery.

M: Full smooth body with low carbonation. Aftertaste is sweet and bitter at the same time, but also you can sence nuts.

O: A nice Wee Heavy with much in common with a Doppelbock, but very obvious still a Wee heavy. Nice and malty.

Poured from bottle into glass. No date on the bottle but I purchased the bottle for like $4 at Acquistapace's Supermarket, Covington, LA. Pour is a ruby red/dark brown with nice carbonation and off-white head. Smells of sweet sweet sugary malts, some boozey caramel. Taste is really nice sweet boozey malts, some caramel and typical scotch flavors...and almost a tea mouthfeel - slightly tanic.
Its a bit harsh on th etip of the tongue but quite mellow after. Really good brew. Nice blend of belgium meets wee heavy and it works. I am actually surprised it doesnt have better reviews than it does. Nice brew and id have again for sure...

750ml served in a Duvel Tulip.

A - Pours a dark and clear garnet with 2 fingers of stern khaki foam that retains very well forming a thin cap. A few round dots of lacing.

S - Lots of fruit, plums, raisins, fruit cake, sweet malt, some spicy alcohol,

T - Loads of caramel/toffee malts, apple brandy, vanilla, brown sugar, very sweet up front, brown bread crust, figs, cherries, apples, plums, dried bananas, sticky raisins, woody alcohol, spicy yeast. Finishes with a tea tannin bitterness.

M - Very smooth and creamy feel, low carbonation,

Wow! This was very good! Kind of like a Dubbel meets Scotch Ale. Very fruity with a dense malt backbone that had a woody alcohol edge to it. Great feel and I enjoyed every sip. I'm gonna pick up a few of these for Christmas/winter.

12oz Bottle from the SAQ Quebec for 3$

Appearance - Clear copper/brown colour with an average size frothy beige coloured head. There is a low amount of carbonation showing and there is some decent lacing. The head lasted for only a few minutes.

Smell - Malts, dark fruits, butterscotch, herbal notes

Taste & Mouth - There is a below average amount of carbonation and I can taste raisins, currants, malts, and some butterscotch. The alcohol is well hidden and there is some anise/herbal flavours. It ends with a somewhat sweet buttery dark fruit flavour.

Overall - The mouthfeel leaves a little to be desired.. but it's still a very drinkable above average brew. With the limited amount of scotch ales available in my area, this is a welcome addition.

The beer is a hazy copper hue with a half inch of light tan head that leaves some decent lacing in its wake.

The aroma offers sweet malt, heavy yeast, fruit, spice, toffee.

Yeast asserts itself immediately, with some fruity, malty sweetness coming in behind. A decent beer, and not lacking in flavor, but a bit sweet and imbalanced. This definitely tastes like a Belgian ale rather than a Scotch ale, with prevalent yeast throughout, almost like a dubbel.

Medium bodied with lingering sweetness and fruity, candied malt.

Overall, pretty good, but I don't see myself returning to this one, as it's a bit too sweet for my personal tastes.
