Nice copper/amber color on this saison, thick creamy head with lots of sticky lacing. Poured into tulip glass. Aroma is faint, but taste kicks in with flavors of toffee and whiskey. Perfect for sipping on a Sunday afternoon...

Clear dark amber in the glass. Nice head with a whipped cream texture. Properly carbonated and sparkly on the tongue.

A light bodied brew with no real sweetness. Dry yeastiness seems to coat the mouth more than most Belgians. Makes a good gulp for a while. Less interesting after a couple of glasses. A little on the musty side, though it seems plenty fresh. No detectable hop flavor, but a fair amount of yeasty bitterness. Hint of raw potato, nothing fruity about this one. I simply can't find any aromatics beyond a faint beeriness. Slightly metallic finish.

From the 750 ml bottle bought at a supermarket in Huy, Belgium.

This is the second Saison I've had. The first was the renowned Saison Dupont, so I was wondering if Saison Regal would be a disappointment... and the answer is: not really.

An attractive red-gold color, with a respectable but short-lived head, this basically shares much of Saison Dupont's character, but everything is sort of turned down a notch. It's a little bit sweeter I think, but still pretty dry. It has the fresh "quaffable" mouthfeel, and some of the same tart character, slight bitterness, and persistent aftertaste.

All in all, a quality beer, not quite up to the level of Saison Dupont, but fresh and highly drinkable, and something I'm happy and glad to drink!

Orange apricot nose offers aromas of fruit, probably yellow fruit with a touch of malt, subtly present. The palate is light with a body very much reduced that to not be too harsh. A little earthy taste is slightly bitter and now he happily recalls the soil and plants. Easy to drink and therefore quite pleasant but especially with a good balance between hops aroma reminiscent plants green and fruity, slightly sweet. A standard season from Hainaut.

Dark golden body, fluffy, ample white head. Looks fine. Spicy, funky touch of citrus on the nose. A bit of the ol' Belgian yeast coming on nice and strong. Really nice drying finish. Haven't had a saison for a while and I'm wondering why. Pretty good stuff.

I must admit im a big fan of corked beers and saisons so this is interesting,it pours a very weird ruby ale colour for a saison with above average carbonation which forms to a nice frothy two finger head that is quite strong looking it has aromas of barnyard funk, yeast, bread and a nice fruity backbone,on taste im definately getting alot of fruity notes like orange peel, lemon and some stone fruit,it has an average mouthfeel but tastes really refreshing this is definately a beer i could drink alot of easily, the only question i have is why that colour as it didnt look like a true saison but definately tasted like one.

Pours amber with a 2-finger light brown head. tons of carbonation rising. Lots of floaters.

Aroma is musty, hay, flowery.

Taste is sweet, hay, farmhouse, light spices.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, cleansing and smooth.

Overall, a decent brew. Not typical for the style but enjoyable in its own right.

Apperance - Amber, 1 finger of head with good retention and lacing.

Smell - Sweet odour, similar to white wine.

Taste - Sweet and fruity but not entirely pleasant. The bottle I had tasted like it had deteriorated a little, but it was well within the expiry date.

Mouthfeel - Smooth, good carbonation level.

Drinkability - Below average for a saison.

Overall - It would be interesting to see how this tastes fresh in Belgium - I imagine it would be noticeably better.

(From notes)

A - Burnt orange color and poured with a thinner slightly off-white head.

S - Wheaty and a bit of raw grain; some hay-like and grassy aromas. Just a faint bit of spicing present

T - Wheaty flavors come through on the taste as well; grassy hop bitterness; spices (coriander?) are pretty muted. Tastes are a bit muddled

M - A bit heavier body than some in the range, but not out of style.

D - Pretty good drinkability, and even though the flavors are a bit muddled, there was still enough positive taste to keep interest. Such a low abv makes this a bit more quaffable than some.

Overall, not the best example I've had in the style, but not a bad brew at all. Worth giving a shot at least once.

poured this out of a 250 ml bottle into a goblet.

A, russet, cloudy at first it looked like smoke in the beer .mild carbonation which creates a thin froth that leaves spots of lace.

S,it got some fruit esters perhaps apples ,pears slight hint of malt and hops .nothing to over powering .

T, this beer has got some good hops and mild malt that make it creamy a bit fruity with some yeast to it that goes down easy .

M, it`s got a creamy consistency thats slighty sweet not bitter or tart.mild ..

D i find this beer to be pleasing and drinkable if you never tried it and you come across it i would pick it up..

Brown 75cl cork and caged bottle, best before 11th Oct 2009, drank Sept 2008.

Poured into four tulip shaped glasses.

Pleasnt looking amber colour with a good sized off-white head.

Aroma reminded me of toffee and caramel, sweet, but not sickly.

Very little taste, it was fairly tart (unlike its smell) and very fizzy, so plenty of carbonisation in there. The body was weak, but it is only 5.5%. I must however say the last glass poured had so much more flavour and aroma than the other three that we almost had a bun fight to decide who had it (I won, because I poured them).

Deep golden appearance, with a hugh, not lasting head.
A bit spicy, malty noise, fruity with raisons.
Taste is mild bitter with hints of spices and yeasts.
Body is light, somewhat dry, very fizzy with an average aftertaste with hay and yeast elements.
Enjoyable beer.
