A very vibrant bar, especially the day of Ashevilles Oktoberfest.

Stopped here mid afternoon on a Saturday and the place was rather quiet as only about 5 patrons were here. Big U shaped wooden bar can seat about 20. Loads of dark woods here and a small stage sits in the corner. Irish music was playing non-stop. I hear there is a lot of good live music here, but not when I was here.
There were about 20 beers on tap here. A nice mix of local offerings with a few from Stone, Troegs, and Sierra Nevada. I had two pints of local brews and both were fresh so beer seems to turnover well here. If you want a cool Irish bar vibe, this one will hit the spot.

Nice mellow bar at least until the live entertainment kicked in at 130 PM. Very good acoustic duo, sure it can get lively the evening seemed to be a good mix of locals & tourists
Both beers I had were in fine form
Service friendly & helpful
Good selection draft, locals & regionals dominate
My goat cheese salad was tasty & pricey
I lot of choices around there, but I would go back again

Visited on a Tuesday afternoon when the Jack was pretty quiet. It was perfect for what my group was looking for. Great beer selection of locals and some normal beer as my friends called it. Wicked Weed, Green Man, Highland, etc. They seem to have a good music setup at night.

A dark bar, and they serve Green Man brews. Seemed from the service like a dive bar. They do serve food, and it fits the atmosphere. A good place to check out if you can't make Green Man.

Decent late night dive bar. About 20 taps, with the entire lineup from Green Man. Overall it was not bad, we went on a Sunday night when most everything else was closed.

Originally the home of Green Man Brewing, this is now a gastropub that features Green Man beers, as well as other craft brews on rotating taps. This place has a great feel; dark and cool, with music playing low, and lots of wood and stone throughout. One of my favorite bar atmospheres of all-time! The staff was great; very helpful and very prompt. There were 4 Green Man beers on tap, as well as an additional 8 from other breweries around the country. They have food, but we weren't eating on this trip. The calendar seems like there are constantly events and live music going on. Awesome place to stop, and right in the middle of any beer tours you may want to do in Asheville.

Rustic store front tavern with an Irish Pub / dive bar atmosphere on the edge of downtown. U-shaped bar in center back of room seats about 18. About a dozen round tables circle the bar on the perimeter, with a stage space to the left of the entry for live music. There are a few bench-like tables along the front sidewalk also. 18 assorted craft beers on tap, about half popular national brands and half local Asheville brews. Friendly service; I did not try the food, although it looked and smelt appetizing. Great place to grab a nightcap if you're staying at the hotel across the street.

I had been told at work this was a great place to go to. At the B&B we were staying another couple said they had a great time listening to music the night before. We were downtown in the afternoon and stopped by for a beer at 2:58 PM. The sign on the door said it opens at 3PM and there were apparent patrons walking around inside. I stuck my head in the door and heard someone ask the bartender what time they open and he curtly said 3PM. He was asked what time is it and walking away said over his shoulder, he didn't care. With that all of us walked out and basically thought this place should have been named "Jack Off in the Woods". This was on Memorial Day
