Notes:
The name pays tribute to Scotland’s historic military regiment known as The Black Watch. With their dark tartan and mission to keep watch over the Highlands, Highland salutes these warriors with a dark mahogany colored brew that pours silky smooth. Black Watch Double Chocolate Milk Stout combines more than 100 pounds of cacao nibs with five malts, roasted barley, and flaked oats to create a rich, high-gravity ale reminiscent of brownie batter and marshmallows with an aromatic nose and a lingering dark chocolate finish.
Hops: Chinook & Willamette
Grist: 2-Row Base, Munich Dark, Chocolate Malt, Carafa II, Roast Barley, Honey Malt & Flaked Oats

Received a bottle from a friend on 12-13-21. Still seeing sixers around for $13.99. Bottled 11-12-21; consumed 4-24-22.
Beer poured black with a nice tan head that is leaving some lacing behind.
Nose is very nice, dark chocolate forward with a moderately roasted malt base.
Taste is really well done as well. Malt base is Export Stout large with a huge dose of dark cocoa added. Hopping is very well done as in the end each sip is balanced very nicely with a touch of dark cocoa lurking in the background.
Mouthfeel is full bodied and silky smooth which lends to looking forward to each succeeding sip!
Overall a really nice holiday beer, very well done, and actually makes for a great dessert beer! Will need to consider splitting a sixer with a friend next year!

Drinking this at The Parsons Pub in downtown Murphy NC.
Poured from a tap into a pint glass.
Looks very dark brown almost black with a nice tight foamy tan head that lasted.
Smells malty, sweet, chocolate.
Taste follows the nose nicely with some nuttiness, coffee and smoky, despite an ABV of 8.0 not the least bit boozey.
Mouth feel is medium for the style with a nice creamy finish.
Overall this is a very good example of Sweet Milk Stout that I would definitely order again.
Cheers!

Nice milk stout without a lot of that lactosey flavor. A bit light in body but nonetheless quite drinkable.

Pours an onyx black with mahogany on the edges, the nose is a chocolate lover’s delight, with loads of milk chocolate aromas and - surprisingly - some stone fruit.
The milk chocolate is the star of this show, just a rich decadent dessert beer. I’m really glad I tripped over this on a trip to Raleigh.

Absolutely fantastic. I would put this beer in my mouth daily if I could get it locally. If you like things that are good you should drink this beer for sure.

6-pack of 12 oz bottles - $14.99 at Bullock's Wine & Spirits in Marietta, Georgia.
FILLED 11/20/18.
Appearance: Pours a very dark brown, near black body with an inch or so of creamyish, frothed, seared beige foam.
Smell: Christmas-themed mug of rich cocoa, scorched cream, and fudge-flecked grains. A lightly nutty walnut element. Gentle touch of dark fruitiness underneathe the malty aromatics.
Taste: B-Watch is sweet, it's smooth with tastes of melty dark and milk chocolates, cream. Roasty, lightly coffee-tinged, and serving up an oversized slice of fudgy chocolate cake. It's nuttiness and fruity accents remain mostly in the background. Near nil hop character, bitterness. Closes out with the same tempered sweetness, roastiness and creamy chocolatiness that started it off.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-light carbonation. Mouthfeel remains quite smooth throughout.
Overall: Nice. It's decadently robust in its characteristics without crossing the line becoming unpleasant and gross. Sweet without being overly so, chocolaty without getting cloying, a goodly mouthfeel falling far short of unseemly and the ABV is lusciously hearty but lacking the need for a glass of water and a nap.

Appearance: Arrives espresso colored with a creamy head that leaves a draping pattern of lace
Smell: Milk chocolate, cream, coffee and walnut aromatics
Taste: Milk chocolate forward, with vanilla cream, marshmallow and a hint of walnut developing; moderately bitter, through the middle, keeping the sweetness in check through the finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation
Overall: Having had a few overly sweet milk stouts recently, I was very pleased with the balance Highland has achieved with this beer

Appearance -Pours jet black with decent tan head that dissipates a little quicker than expected spotty lacing all around the glass.
Aroma - Huge nose of cocoa and fudge, light roasted malts but just mostly lost of chocolate.
Taste - taste is very close to the aroma lots of cocoa, fudge and vanilla but there are more roasted malts the moment it hits my mouth. The taste is very good nice balance of sweet and slightly bitter.
Feel - Pretty creamy full feel, coats the moth nicely no sign of any alcohol with a touch of dryness on the finish.
Overall - A really well done milk stout with a little thicker feel than a usual milk stout and lots of chocolate flavor.

It’s just a bit too much like a chocolate brownie mix for me.
I would prefer a little more beer taste , so maybe it’s a great choice for a half n half with something else. Sweet thick creamy -great -Cocoa nibs chocolate tastes so fresh.
Rich black quality brew with all the right things other than being a little over the top with the flavors. It’s a great representation of double chocolate milk stout style otherwise. My two cents

Delicious. First of all, go get yourself a tulip. Got it? OK, so you will see that the color is a wonderful mahogany with a tan head that is thick and thin lacing. The taste follows the nose so you will notice brownie batter, chocolate syrup, and marshmallows. A great beer option for hosting a beer dinner. The finish is rather earthy with more rich chocolate and milk sugars. The medium body and medium carbonation give you a creamy feel and a silky meets dessert meets chocolate finish.
Smooth, creamy mouthful.
This is one of the better milk stouts I have ever had and the best Highland brew out there.

On tap
Pours deep black in color with a creamy khaki colored head. Smells of dark chocolate, tootsie roll, toasted malt, herbal coffee and toffee. Tastes of rich dark chocolate along with milk sugars up front, reminiscent of a tootsie roll. Midpalate brings roast and char, along with coffee notes. The finish is herbal and earthy with more rich chocolate and milk sugars on the linger. Medium body and carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel and a silky finish. Loaded with chocolate throughout, very good
