American Chinook, Citra, and Centennial hops from the Pacific Northwest shine in our West Coast style IPA. A sturdy malt bill frames hints of tropical fruit, lemon rind, grapefruit and dank hops notes. Brilliant and golden in color. Expect a dry, resiny, citrusy finish.

Poured into a wide mouth, grip shaped goblet: color is gold, transparent, head presents 2 fingers thicck, then dissipates to a ring with some nice lacing on the glass sides.
Smell is toasted malt, light caramel, herbal and citric hops, light earthy note.
Taste is similar with malt forward flavor but not sweet, notes of toast, caramel, bread, hop notes are citric, herbal, some pine and earth.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, lower sweetness, moderate bitterness.
Overall a very good, clean, malt forward IPA.

A good non hazy AIPA. Poured into a whiskey glass dark golden. A citrus nose. Straight up bitter hops taste. A good straight up old school AIPA.

Can. White head. Clear golden color.
Nice west coast style with good bitterness. A bit dank, some sticky/resiny hops, some citrus fruit. Finishes bitter with some weedy notes. Solid.

Poured from a 12 ounce can into a stemmed tulip IPA glass. Canned 5 weeks ago.
Translucent gold color brew with a massive white cap that trims to 1-plus F of soapy foam. Heavy lacing. Nice look.
Pleasant malt aroma wetted with grapefruit and lemon. Fresh dough and multi-grain with a whiff of pine.
Malt driven to start. The citrus hops come through like grapefruit and lemon peel. A touch of tropical note blends in the finish.
Nice medium West Coast IPA body style. Malted, refreshing, and hoppy, too. The malt aroma strengthens as time passes.
This brew improves every time that I drink it !

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, light pine. Taste is the same as the aroma, some herbal notes, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

Firm, pure and somewhat simple, Highland Brewing has enough courage to make an ordinary beer. -and ordinary beer with extraordinary drinkability on the backs of Centennial, Chinook and Citra hops.
The resulting AVL IPA is a fairly bright golden ale with a frothy white cap. with a fruity and herbal scent, hints of dried citrus, fresh grassiness and floral geranium frame a familiar scent for '90's hop heads. Scant sweetness graces the tongue with a light and wafer-like grain profile. Lightly bready and faintly sweet with honeysuckle a light malt balance is set.
As the hops billow on the middle palate, the classic fruitiness of grapefruit and orang peel come about but does so also with a more vivid valencia character with hints of lemongrass, lemon peel and a peppery fruit flavor. As the bitterness evolves, the late taste is peppery with pine, fruit peel and herbal verbena.
Light, crisp and ultimately refreshing, the beer quenches the thirst with a brisk and bitter finish that trails with dry hemp, green tea, spruce and sassafras.

12oz can into a pint glass. Canned 6/9/22, so about 10 weeks old.
Looking very good in the glass. Bright golden yellow body with a substantial white head which persists in good form throughout leaving a latticework of lacing.
Aroma is a little off. Hard to describe. Funk and dead flowers is the best I can come up with.
However this does not translate to the taste. Pine and grapefruit hopbite, quite aggressive. The malt struggles to hold it's own, mostly fails.
Mouth close to full, finish grapefruit bitterness.
Overall, pretty good west coast ipa. Can proclaims unfiltered, but this was crystal clear. Also boasts of a strong malt base, which I didn't find. Tasty drink though. Shame about the aroma.
