Not much of a head, but nice lacing. Dark brown look. Roasted malt sweetness in the nose and in the taste. Not complicated, over hoppy or too smoky. Don't get the reference to oatmeal, because it tastes like a straight forward American Porter. More interesting as it warms.

Drank the first time because it was listed on the "1001".
Drank my second time and it was better.
The aroma was subtle, but the taste and finish were long, malty and smooth.
A very nice change from the style of too much bitterness from the hops and roasted grain.
Give credit to the oatmeal.

Deep jet black color overwhelms the glass with a tall creamy head that dissipates leaving behind trails of creamy lacing. The smells hint of coffee, maybe a little cao cao, but no trace of oatmeal. Same with the taste, coffee cao cao but the oatmeal is very faint if not even present in this brew. Its so creamy and filling however that this could be a delightful breakfast beer. This is one of my favorite brewers and I would recommend this porter to anyone who wants to try something appetizing.

Despite the oatmeal in the name of the beer, this brew tasted like a fairly normal porter to me with nice roasted malt flavors. In short, a fairly normal porter.

Pours jet black with thin caramel colored head good lacing head dissipates completely.

Smell I get some coffee notes maybe a little chocolate dark malts.

Taste right off the bat I get some coffee then some roasted malts also getting a little bit of oats.

Feel fairly thin well carbonated also a little bitter.

Overall a decent porter probably would not have it again.
