Look: It pours dark brown with a brown head.

Smell: There are moderate fruit aroma with Roast, chocolate, and some nut.

Taste: There are flavors of roast and citrus with chocolate, oats, and nut.

Feel: It has a moderate feel that is on the heavy side with a moderately high bitter finish. It has a fairly high level of carbonation.

Overall it is a malt forward ale with a pleasant balance of citrus hops.

Dark brown with a generous khaki head. Nose dominated by dark toasty malts. Taste smooth, with dark caramel, a hint of sweetness. Smooth taste and mouthfeel: silky, as the bottle suggests. Excellent beer, would only rate higher if the flavor profile were more complex, but that might disturb the smoothness of the taste profile that develops as you drink this. Drank 28 May 16.

There is a large tan head on this beer, a dark blackish color that has a red tint in the light. It has a rich and full stout flavor. There are hints of oatmeal in the flavor, and light chocolate notes in the aftertaste. It smells like coffee to me. The feel is medium and average relative to other stouts. Overall, it is a good oatmeal stout from a brand that is consistently good. I would recommend to stout fans, who can get a hold of it.

Not much of a head, but nice lacing. Dark brown look. Roasted malt sweetness in the nose and in the taste. Not complicated, over hoppy or too smoky. Don't get the reference to oatmeal, because it tastes like a straight forward American Porter. More interesting as it warms.

Drank the first time because it was listed on the "1001".
Drank my second time and it was better.
The aroma was subtle, but the taste and finish were long, malty and smooth.
A very nice change from the style of too much bitterness from the hops and roasted grain.
Give credit to the oatmeal.
