Poured from a bottle (17th anniversary - 2006) into a Duvel Tulip. Beer pours a rich golden brown color with a small sticky head. Nice looking brew. Smell wasn't what I was expecting. The fruity yeasts that I was expecting were very subdued. I picked up a slight hop to it, but I overall, I wasn't impressed with the nose. Taste is very, very spiced. Clove and cinimon dominate, follewed by ripe fruit and alcohol. Mouthfeel is full, thick, and has a syrupy quality to it that isn't all that pleasant. Warms going down, which is OK. Drinkability is below average. Nothing I would seek in the future. I have another couple of bottles that I'm going to age for a bit. Need to see if some of those spices settle down a bit, because they are a bit overpowering as is.

On tap at Marin Brewing Company in Larkspur, CA.
Pours a clear yellow-orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Thick swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, perfume, white grape juice, fruit, spice, and yeast aromas. Taste is much the same with grain, spice, yeast, and fruit flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty and easy to drink despite its higher ABV.
Serving type: on tap.

From BeerAdvocate magazine Issue #65 (June 2012):
LOOK: Clear pale gold, decent lacing
SMELL: Juicy Fruit bubble gum, crackers, floral, phenolic, fennel, peppery, earthy, estery
TASTE: Slightly creamy, medicinal, mild bubble gum, bready, peppercorn, herbal, faint hop resin, taffy, banana peel, dandelions, bitter, star fruit, nutty yeast, warming alcohol, sherry; drying, grainy finish
Very complex with a very broad smattering of nuances to pick out with each sip. It could have used a bit more crispness but the lack of it did not make the beer suffer for it. Not the Tripel we were looking for but ends up being quite a tasty brew.

This seems almost more like a pale wheat beer than a tripel. It's a nice beer, the carbonation gives it a good refreshing feel. With in the flavor profile are some citrus, zest, doughy bread and white pepper. The breadiness comes and goes, as do some of the hops. Kind of grassy. Flavors are light, though. A tripel yeast profile seems lacking.
A nice beer for hot days, probably good with a salad.

sorry, Tripel Dipsea, not Triple....
Pours a slightly hazy amber, about a finger-and-a-half of soapy head that disappears, leaving a short bandana at the rim, no real lacing to speak of. Aromas of sweet malt, some raspberry, banana and maybe cherry too. Something akin to light cinnamon in there also. Unique but not mind blowing. Interesting flavor. Lot of slick and chewy mouthfeel. Almost like a milkshake. Flavor is very malty up front, then morphs into some Belgian yeast and finally crawls through a banana-alcohol finish. The carbonation works well in here. The finish is short and carries a strange hoppy effervescence..almost tingly on the tongue. Not super-Belgiany by any means, and the finish kills this by being too short and tweaky. In the mid-price range for a bomber. I could not drink more than a bomber of this at a time.
What I like Most: Probably the aroma profile.
What I like Least: The strange, tingly finish.
Verdict: OK but not worth seeking out.

Bottle. Thanks to forgetfu for this one(!).
Appearance is orange gold with some thin white head. Nose reveals some bitter orange peel and orange oil, some faint hay and a little white pepper. Palate is crisp with a little acidity hiding in there, maybe a "funny" feast strain here? It adds a nice layer of complexity to a somewhat simple flavor profile of pale caramel malt and orange preserves. "Fruit leathers" come to mind and leafy greens as well. ABV is well hidden but has a nice warming affect in the throat.
An interesting brew. Decent and worth trying.
