I found it better than the average reviews. A strong beer that doesn't warn you about its strength. I found it funny. Far from my favourite, but overall, an interesting beer.

This beer is the same name as a one brewed in France, however this bottle has Brasserie Boxer Lausanne, Suisse printed on it. Anyway strong alcohol taste, brewer claims it to be the strongest blonde in the world. Good carbonation, strong malty after taste. Bought in Rome, Italy.

The color is very deceptive, looks like an ordinary blonde beer after pouring in the glass. The head is a bit weak and soapy looking. The smell is very weak, with a slight note of citrus, and I can't detect the alcohol in the aroma. The taste is very interesting, in some ways, because it is somewhat unique and different, though not impressive by the standard of other blondes produced by this brewery. They've done a fair job of hiding the 12% alcohol content, but it inevitably comes out in the aftertaste. The expectation of a strong malts or hoppiness is not met, although I like the fact that such a strong beer is not super-sweet like most in this category. The mouthfeel is not bad, pretty smooth and not sticky like the sweet strong beers. The frightening thing is that this beer is rather drinkable, and with 12% things could get pretty heady real fast. Taken with a meal, the alcohol aftertaste will probably be dampened quite a bit, especially with salty foods.

I wouldn't recommend this as an everyday beer, but it is really not that bad, and interesting to see how these brewers (whose other beers I admire quite a lot) managed to come up with a drinkable 12% offering. That's really impressive, and I think one should at least try it to see how masterfully this was done.

Beer bottle (33 cl.), tasted in 2000.

Appearance : yellow color, with white foamy head (not persistent).
Smell : very sweet malty with notes of alcohol.
Taste and mouthfeel : sweet alcohol and malt.
Drinkability : an average beer in the style French "bière de garde" (too strong).

Aroma is very malty and hints at high ABV. Color is clear golden with thin but sticky head. Taste is sourish and , hints of honey and plenty of alcohol burn. Mouthfeel is right and despite alcohol burn, overall texture and palate is very smooth. But beware the high ABV, for a small bottle, this is potent stuff....

This beer is in every supermarket that I've visited in Italy. It's also advertised on several large billboards in and around Milan.
I'm usually a fan of strong beers, but this one really misses the mark. It's a stron brew, alright, but it lacks the flavor and complexity that I find engaging in other strong beers. It's pale and limp, with a s fair clarity. The smell leaves little to describe, except for some ethanol and a bit of grain. The flavor is a bit harsh, but under the alcohol is a bit of malt and a little bitter hops. The beer is of medium body, and fairly low carbonation. This brew didn't excite me at all.

Overall not bad. I do agree with most of the reviews that there really isn't much in the way of up front smell or flavor, but it's not necessarily a bad beer. It's worth a try at least once.

Vintage 1997? Best before of 30.03.98

Pours pale, hazy gold with a white head of various sized bubbles.
The head never accounts to much, even with an aggresive pour, but lacework is decent afterwards.
Mostly erratic dots and a few strings of foam endure throughout the glass.
Aromatics are mostly higher alcohols, with a mild nail polish essence and other cleaning solutions.
A very light malt wink lies underneath the brutal, boozy nose, and finishes with a hint of honey.
The mouthfeel is pretty light for the size of the beer, and a bit sticky. Nothing really else is apparent besides the heat that bares down.
The pallet is mildly sweet and almost burning. Pretty straightforward and alcoholic. No spice, yeastiness or hops. Rather one dimensional.
The cleaning solution character comes through as promised, but seems more industrial strength now. Goodie goodie.
A very light malt note along with some residuals is all that can be decerned through the lingering heat of the fusels.
The solvent-like character seemed to build on the pallet, which eventually kept me from finishing the glass.
I was hoping that 10 years would have helped this beer improve somehow, and it is more offensive than I remember.
Maybe another 10?

Colour: light gold, clear. White head, durability fatal, immediately disappears. Aroma little crisp, malty with a hint of honey and plenty of alcohol. Taste: no surprises, first alcohol, the second 12% alcohol, continue as in the aroma, alcohol plus gentle malt and honey. Gentian alcohol, low. High saturation.

I read a couple reviews here and the 'Bière du démon' is rated as poor. Maybe that's a tad harsh, just in my opinion. For a French strong lager and as far as I know there aren't many of those, it's slightly above average. Yes 12%ABV is a lot and especially for a lager. It's a beer I gave a try or two already, and won't buy the six-pack, assuming it's exist. A cheap buzz if you are around these parts. For the same brewery though, I suggest Goudale instead.

33cl Brown bottle, well in date. Poured into a Duvel glass.

Looked fine, clear, bright and golden. A foaming white head sat proudly on top at first, it fell away to a scummy wisp after a few minutes though.

Heady lager aroma, alcohol and hay smells dominate.

The taste wasn't anything but alcohol, I had to eat something after three sips, or I'd have fallen over.

Very little body or richness, no depth, just alcohol.

If I had no tastebuds and wanted to get drunk I still wouldn't choose this beer. The headache it would surely produce could be really heavy, a real cracker. I am also positive there would be Demons in your nighmares.

A neat looking label. Hesitant because of previous things I'd heard about this one, but gave it a fair, objective shot - and was, pleasantly not poisoned. While far from anything of quality, it managed to keep itself well beyond the realm of under-the-sink cleaning products. Alcohol, at an alarming 12%, stayed surprisingly hidden, or at least nondestructive to the beer. It's real shortcoming would fall in a simple lack of taste and aroma. An acceptable draft at the style, but lacking in the finer touches. Flavour offers little interest or complexity, equally can be said for the aroma. Both, present, but void. It managed to produce some head over the clouded (unhealthy looking) yellow appearance. In the end, I can say with some truth that I didn't mind this one; well, in all honesty I've had worse anyhow...

33 cl. bottle. Pours a small white head that fades soon. Clear golden color, more standard for a lager than forthis kind of beer.
Smell, where’s the smell? Apart of detergents with pine or lemon or whater aroma they had, nothing. Flavor, only alcohol. taste is sweet, again alcohol, though I can even notice something hot, kind of pepper. And that’s all. It’s not the worst beer I’ve had, but I find it just artificial and not much interesting, unless you want to get drunk quickly.

Nose quite fresh and sweet, slightly relieved by sugar alcohol. Mouth syrupy sweet enough to taste but with a touch of warmth without doubt due to alcohol. Also sweet, it feels a little orange syrup aftertaste, it can quickly become sickening. But for beer to 12 °, it does not really and can be drunk easily. A good point in that direction. But one bad point for the few flavors available and a sickening body quickly such as a poor quality alcohol.

Had this in Barcelpona with Maria and Zacca. Poured with a decent off white foamy, frothy head and lots of lace. Color was a clear amber. Aroma was malty, honey with a hint of skunk. Flavor was dominated by heavy sweet alcohol. Body wasnk't bad. Finish is the same as flavor. Way too sweet and boozy. One was more than enough, thank you.

Pours a clear, maize color. 1/5 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of strong alcohol, slight dark citrus, and grain. Fits the style of an Euro Strong Lager. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong alcohol, slight dark citrus, and grain. Overall, weak appearance, alcohol completely dominates, poor body, aroma, and blend.

I don't get this cheap and popular superalcoholic beers...
They are just terrible.. nothing balances the alcohol in them.
In the end of this one I thought I was drinking a vodka lol.

33cl bottle: This one pours an absolutely clear golden color with a bit of a white head on it. The head drops off rather quickly, despite some fizziness. The aroma is thinner, with some fruit and alcohol notes. Some malty smell also. The taste is rather harsh, although somewhat sweet. There is also alcohol up front. Some malt notes. Overall, this is not offensive, but not very good either. I feel that the only purpose of this brew is to get you trashed.

Pours a clear gold brew.

Smell is sweet newspaper. Not Good!

Taste is malt + Vodka. No real beer taste here at all.

Mouthfeel is Oakland malt Liquor.

A truly horrid brew! Don't buy!

OK have to ad some words to make this review. THIS IS AWFUL! DANGER WILL ROBINSON!

We pour a goldenrod-colored brew. It holds a one finger head of fatty white bubbles that retains for quite a while. Thick lacing is left as it slowly departs. There is a bit of haze to the look, but no outright sediment is observed. Carbonation looks to be standard but the bubbles rise slowly, as though they’re fighting through the thickness. The aroma is wrought with adjuncty grain and an acetaldehyde sweetness of apple that cuts the heavy malting. There are also big fusel alcohols wafting off the top, mixing with chalky and bitter yeast. As we sip, the mouth is bombarded with adjuncty grain. At first it is only this, but burning alcohols crash in, with a mix of tequila and cheap vodka. I want to keep the sip in my mouth to taste the flavors, but at the same time I want to spit it out because it is borderline nauseating. The middle is mild, with a stale and chalky grain. There is a hollow fishiness about it here as well. It is like a raw salmon, but not in the delicious sashimi type of way. The finish is more of the same, with an added metallic and plastic component. The aftertaste breathes with steely grain and yeast, biting booze, and limey sweetness. The body is medium and the carbonation is low. The feel to each sip is actually quite nice, with a soft slurp and heavy coating around the mouth. There is a drying component immediately following this. The abv is maximum and the beer drinks with the ease of mud.

Overall, what we enjoyed most about this brew was the look. It had a nice color with a good froth and head over it. The aromas and corresponding taste were borderline offensive. As it warms these actually even out a bit and the maladies subside temporarily. The abv is over the top and is not hidden well. They should reevaluate the recipe and then worry about making something more over the top.

I had this beer while I was in Italy and the experience was too unforgettable not to take notes.

Appearance. It pours a clear golden body with a one finger head. This is the best part of this beer.

Smell: It all goes down hill from here. Aromas from the initial pour are innocent enough. A sweet malt aroma is followed quickly by a huge blast of booze. I did not think much of it at first since the ABV is 12% but the alcohol smell grows to the point of being unbearable as the beer warms.

Taste: A sweet hint of malt liquor is quickly followed by a hideous vodka punch. The alcohol ends up killing any other remote flavors which may have been present.

Mouth feel: It feels thick with a huge burn from the alcohol. The next sip really was a chore.

Overall: I normally do not like to bash a brew but this is one of the most unbalanced beers I have ever had. Take an average Euro pale lager and dump a double shot of 100 proof vodka into it before taking a sip; you will end up with this beer. Even if you just want to get drunk there are better options. I honestly had a hard time finishing this.

A: light golden color with a finger of white foam that takes a while to disappear. The foam laces on the glass and stays for a while.

S: very sweet smell initially, but vodka cuts in quickly.

T: again, sweet up front, with a bitter bite on the backend.

M: surprisingly thick for such a light blond beer, you can see the bubbles rise slowely as though trying to fight the thickness.

O: 12% Alc is it's most intersting feature, the sweet and bitter flavors that come through do not impress.

Pours an incredibly clear greenish-yellow, with a healthy head that fades down into toad's eye bubbles and top-lacing. Fine, but on the weak end. Then again, with this alcohol percentage, any head is something.

Nose is largely neutral, with clean yeast, some metalic notes, and a whiff of millet. Not good, though.

Taste starts out fairly harmless, with some honeyed sweetness, and a premonition of alcohol behind it. This is soon followed by a rush of intensely awful fusel alcohol -- enough to make me wince -- along with more metal, and deep, unsettling heat. Truly terrible.

Mouthfeel is fine enough, but the beer it carries is so bad, I'm loathe to keep it in my mouth for very long.

One of the worst beers I've ever drank, and a rare drain-pour (after the review, of course). Even now, it curdles the stomach. An abomination.

250ml bottle

A- Dark golden colour, reddish hints if seen through light. Head is white, foamy, decently big, but it disappears pretty quickly and also leaves very little lacing

S- Very, very sweet aroma, malty but in some kind of a 'chemical' way if that's the right word. A slight hint of candied apples is possibly the only actual aroma. And then of course a huge boost of alcohol, not at all amalgamated with the smell.

T- Very sweet upfront with a slight touch of grain. From the very start you may think that at least this feels like beer, but the booze soon kicks in, no flavours on tongue (except for a slight metallic feel), alcohol burning on the palate and in the aftertaste. Overall this is an extremely sweet beer, but it does not have sweet flavours, it's just disturbingly sweet

M- Body is a quite thick (you may have expected a bit more given the ABV), but thick with some kind of a burning feel from the alcohol, not at all pleasant. Carbonation is, suprisingly, barely detectable. If it felt a little crisp, it's flaws may have been hidden a bit

O- It's quite obvious what i think abuot drinkabilty, complexity and so on. Half of the bottle was a drainpour. Congratulations Du Demon, you are my new lowest rated beer

330ml bottle

Pours with a pale gold colour, thin slightly off white head with pretty poor retention, thick cloying body sticks to the side of the glass, some lacing

Smell, massive whiff of strong booze, some malt liquor aroma in the background, hops are no where to be smelt :(

Taste, overpowering sweetness, ridiculous alcohol, boozy mouthfeel, burning alcohol, some thick sticky malt in there too.

Sh*t basically, a malt liquor gone too far, tastes like someone brewed a standard lager recipe then added 6kilos of spray malt just to up the alcohol content.... stay far away from this one
